OK, maybe I'm just too dense to see the obvious, but where did the name IMWAN come from? What does it mean? I've been wondering.

Thanks, Chris. I suspected something like that existed, I was just too lazy to look for it. After all, this is only my SECOND FAVORITE FORUM. Really.
I never would have guessed that IMWAN stood for Incredibly Masochistic Wankers Adding Noodles. AND In My Weird Alternate Nebraska.
Huh.

Everyone has a differnet take on this one Greg.
I pronounce it IM like HIM and WAN like JUAN. IMWAN.

I pronounce it IM like HIM and WAN like JUAN. IMWAN. Me too, but if I say to myself "is that WAN" (like after I read one of your posts, for instance ), I pronounce that like pan.

It's pronounced as if you were saying "I'm one".

Linda is correct. The board's original slogan was "IMWAN. RU?"

Guys, just as long as y'all pronounce "ICE" like frozen water, we'll be fine.

By saying that it needs to be pronounced in any one particular way at all is in itself un-WAN.

I think Linda must have a good chuckle whenever I bring up the fact that when I first joined up here, I was always assuming that IMWAN was a play on "I'm One" from The Who. This has been a good place for me to be in-considering I have almost nothing on my brain except music...well, there's beautiful women, pro sports, books, WWII, my dog, etc. Well, you get what I mean. I'm screwed up and I fit in here just nicely.

Thanks to you all for your input and information. I am now no clearer regarding this matter than when the original question was posted.
