This will be a must-get for me. Jeff was amazing, and I feel lucky that I got to see him live (some twenty years ago, opening for Little Feat)...

Did he have a song way back when (80's) called "angel eyes".

If so...I'm taking my lighter out right now and waving it slowly,

Due to public demand in the aftermath of Jeff Healey's passing, this album's release date has been brought forward by six weeks and is now available.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised to see it on sale at J&R last week. Added to Jimbo's List.

His new CD- " Mess Of Blues " is very good, a combination of live and studio cuts that include both blues and rock. I was pleasantly surprised by this release, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to everyone. FYI- I would rate my top three as:
See the Light
Mess of Blues
Cover to Cover- this one simply for track # 10- As The Years Go Passing By.

I've seen Jeff Healey many times, both at his club and at other bars when he showed up to jam with the band. He was great. There's a tribute show coming up that I'll be at with fellow Imwaner Jason Gourlay:

What: A rock and roll and blues tribute to the late Jeff Healey
Where: The Sound Academy (formerly The Docks), 11 Polson St.
When: Saturday May 3, 2008. Doors at 6.30 p.m., show starts at 7.30 p.m.
Who: (Alphabetical order)

Randy Bachman
Jimmy Bowskill
Jack Bruce
Alan Frew
Ian Gillan
Jerome Godboo
Greg Godovitz
Jeff Healey's Blues Band
Jeff Healey's Jazz Wizards
Chuck Jackson
Colin James
Danny Marks
Matt Minglewood
Alannah Myles
Rob Quail
Joe Rockman
Pat Rush

David Wilcox
(and other guests to be announced)

How much: $45.00 in advance at TICKETBREAK on-line:
http://www.ticketbreak. com or by phone at 1 866-9-GET-TIX (943-8849), or at
the door (if available) $50.00.

Get Me Some from 2000 is hands down my 2nd favorite blues record of his. It is fantastic and rocks all the way through. If you are a fan and don't have it, then get it.
