Product Description
Insides Out is the debut solo album from Jordan Zevon (son of Warren Zevon and Tule Livingston). Dive straight in, get past making comparisons to his father's music, then indulge yourself on the Jordan's glorious mix of rock/pop inspired by XTC, Elvis Costello and the New Radicals.

Jordan simply describes his sound by saying, "It's organic rock/pop. Something I always told my Dad to stick with. I hated when he used synthesizers and drum machines."

The first track "The Joke's On Me" — co-written with pal Jordan Summers — was the winner of the 2006 USA Songwriting contest. Knowing it is time to get serious about his future, Jordan enlisted help from his long time friends to help create and complete Insides Out. Along with stand out tracks such as "This Girl" and "American Standard", Jordan does one cover. It is "Studebaker" — one of his father's unreleased gems.

Insides Out is a stunning debut that captures 11 perfectly crafted American rock songs, that is if you like smart lyrics and catchy guitar riffs all drenched in sublime harmonies.

1. The Joke's On Me
2. This Girl
3. Home
4. Just Do That
5. Camila Rhodes
6. Insides Out
7. American Standard
8. Studebaker
9. Payday
10. Too Late To Be Saved

The description of this cd has lingered in my head, and last week i finally picked it up. Have only had time to listen to it once so far, but wanted to get here immiedately to highly recommend this one to any pop lovers out there. These days there are so many cds that get a similar descriptive hype to this one, and usually with the exception of a few tracks, they seldom live up to it.

But this ones shines, folks. The songs are strong, sparsely and tastefully instrumentated, and i really enjoy Jordan's vocals. There was only one track that didn't hit me as strongly as the rest, not to say it isn't a good song, it just seems perhaps somewhat out of place with the rest of the material. The cover of "Studebaker" is wonderful.

Congratulations to Jordan Zevon for a strong debut; will look forward to more.... Doubtlessly, Dad is proud.

I totally agree. I just bought this out of duty, as a fan of Warren's. But, I was very pleasantly surprised. If there are any Ben Folds/Jellyfish/Fountains Of Wayne fans out there, this one is for you. "Camila Rhodes", in a just universe, would be a "Stacey's Mom"-sized hit. You can add Jordan Zevon to the very short list of rock star kids that do not just ape their famous parent's style for airplay and attention.

Just wanted to plug this gem one more time. Had made some notes when listening to it. and couldn't locate them when i made the first plug. Okay, track-by-track, IMHO;

1) The Joke's On Me - "A+ guitar-driven brit-style pop", one of those hooks that just sticks in your head, wonderful harmonies, a great chorus and an even greater middle-eight. great one to open with....

2) This Girl - opening with an extended synth note upon which the band abruptly drops in; another nice chorus, as well as the lead-in to the chorus, and another A+ middle-eight

3) Home - another british style opening, has nice Harrison-esque emotive guitars, and breaks off with a slow melodic break towards the end

4) Just Do That - evocative of the Beatles, with a rockin' chorus; nice production and arrangement, and features a cabaret jazzish type outro

5) Camila Rhodes - another A+ pop gem, with hooks to die for....

6) Insides Out - very melodic mid-tempo number, with nicely arranged sparse instrumentation

7) American Standard - a decent song, but this is one originally referred to as being, for me at least, the only weak-ish link on the cd; can't recall exactly why at this point....

8) Studebaker - picked a nice one from Dad to cover, and does a wonderful job with it

9) Payday - primarily noted for a very tasty guitar break

10) Too Late To Be Saved - another A+'er alongside the opening track and Camila Rhodes; full circle - a great one to close with....

Highly recommended (i know, "we heard you the first time!"....).
