The previous volume was released back in 1996, only as a Canadian import: Amazon.com The Sarah McLachlan cottage industry rolls with 'Rarities, B-sides, And Other Stuff'. This disc of hard-to-finds and extended remixes offers some choice morsels for casual fans and a whole plateful for the faithful. The Freedom Sessions proved that McLachlan can do some nice stuff with a cover tune, and she offers a sweet handful here. Fellow Canadians Gordon Lightfoot and Joni Mitchell get lushed-out respectively with "Song For A Winter's Night" and "Blue," and McLachlan also works her magic with XTC's "Dear God" and the Billie Holiday classic "Gloomy Sunday." Each is dark, but engaging, like so much of McLachlan's own material, including this set's brooding "Full of Grace" and "I Will Remember You." Product Description Never released in the U.S., this 1996 collection features 13 of the Canadian singer/songwriter's best B-sides, covers, rarities & soundtrack contributions, 1987-1996. Housed in a double gatefold slipcase, it includes 'Possession' (Rabbit In The Moon Remix), 'I Will Remember You' (from the film 'Last Of The Mohicans'), covers of XTC's 'Dear God', Gordon Lightfoot's 'Song For A Winter's Night' & Joni Mitchell's 'Blue', plus live cuts & more mixes! A Nettwerk release.1. Dear God 2. I Will Remember You 3. Fear [LunaSol Remix] 4. Gloomy Sunday [Live] 5. Full of Grace 6. Song for a Winter's Night 7. Blue 8. Drawn to the Rhythm [Live] 9. Shelter [Violin Mix] 10. As the End Draws Near [Extended Remix] - Manufacture, Sarah McLachlan 11. Vox [Extended Remix] 12. Into the Fire [Extended Remix] 13. Possession [Rabbit in the Moon Remix] Amazon USA: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000005RQQ/?tag=imwan-20Amazon Canada: http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B000005RQQ/?tag=imwanca-20

I collect Sarah, so V.2 will be a must for me. I hope the price comes down. I am sadly starting to think that she may have peaked many years ago with Fumbling. Nothing since has been in the same league as her first 3.

I'm unfamiliar with several of the tracks.

Has she completely disowned her cover of Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill"? How could it not be included on one of these CDs?

Picked it up today. Warning, while this at least has a tray for the disc it continues the recent trend of cheap, flimsy packaging. If i was feeling really generous, I'd call it a digipack, though it's lighter weight then most digipacks. And for a rarities comp it really bites that there's no booklet. The inside of the digipack has each song title printed on it along with the musicians. There is no mention of where each song originally appeared, & the info on tracks 5-9 is hidden underneath the cd tray. This really pisses me off, as a collector I'd like to know the history of the songs on a collection like this without having to Google them.
At least it has a tray...............
Interestingly, this is a US only release.

Hey Geff, I had the same reaction. Bad packaging, and give us some info on where the tracks originated, so at least I'd know how many of them I already have on other CDs.

I find she peaked with "Vox". Loved that song. Since then she's been a little too touchy feely for me. "Fumbling" was also good but that was during that Lillith phase that thankfully has ended. She's seen on a TV ad in these parts asking for donations to save pets.

Why even do a set like this with no source info? That's the whole appeal! Jay

At least there are 8 song that ( I THINK!) I don't already have.
The remake of Cats In The Cradle with DMC (Run-DMC) is so weird I can't decide if I like it or hate it!
