Quote: TEEN TITANS
A rumor from World's Finest implies that there will be no more animated adventures for the exaggerated teen heroes. They heard from creator Marv Wolfman that the movie is currently on hold because, according to Warner Home Video, there may not be a big enough audience for the "Teen Titans: The Judas Contract" animated feature to be successful. "Teen Titans: The Judas Contract" was originally scheduled to be the third DC Universe Animated Movie before Warner Home Video delayed it, opting to produce "Batman: Gotham Knight" and "Wonder Woman" instead. Shafted by the grown ups, how rude ... http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=13182

Maybe amid fears that the manga-ish TT cartoon fans might be confused and pick this up, when this story (if told correctly) is pretty adult in nature, at least pg-13.

I'm wondering if it may be because of reduced sales of New Frontier, due to the fact it hit the Net almost 2 months before its actual release date.

I still have the opinion that piracy is overrated as a cause of lowered sales. Most people who download a movie weren't going to buy it anyway. I'd guess any lower than expected sales of New Frontier is a result of confusion or disinterest because of the lack of tie-in to what (normal) people think of as the "regular" Justice League, the Timm/Dini production.

I'm buying it BECAUSE I had a chance to see it as a downloaded screener.. I pretty much agree with Jeff. The kinds of people who download mostly do it because they are curious and would never normally have bought what ever it was that was uploaded in the first place. I have for sure doubled my expenditure in comics, movies and music etc since I started using P2P. As for the Judas contract I am gutted. I would be amazed if a Wonder Woman DVD would do more business than a TT film.

This is not good news for their DVD series. Strike one was doomsday being an utter piece of crap. Strike two would be if they really do have bad sales on N.F. If that's the case, it could be for a number of reasons. A) buyers turned off by Doomsday and Brainiac attacks before that---figured 'more crap'. B) 1950's set up might not be a lot of viewers cup of tea C) might be an issue of them not liking the style in general. D) it follows the book exactly do there really aren't any surprises E) if it was leaked onto the net a few months ago, I do believe that the majority of folks out there who download are not going to do the right thing and pay for the actual item, no matter how much better the quality, etc.
It's also a shame that the Titans for an older audience (older than 7) won't get the quality stuff. Poor Perez. The Games GN is dead in the water and now this.

The quality of Superman: Doomsday is a subjective opinion. Look at the thread here about it and you'll see that it's pretty evenly split between those that liked it and those that didn't.
I think the biggest problem for the Teen Titans DVD is that they aren't Batman, Superman, or even Wonder Woman. The mainstream audience that's familiar with the Titans are probably still too young for a Judas Contract movie, and the comic book audience that wants one is far too small to justify doing it.

I was wondering how they were going to pull off a 14-year-old Terra sleeping with Slade Wilson, a man roughly three times her age. Marv and George just barely got away with it in the comics 25 years ago, but slipping that element into an animated DVD could prove tricky, even if aimed at a PG-13 audience.
Could that single plot point be the problem?
