Defalco will be teaming with artist Tom Nauck for a five-issue American Dream, with the first issue debuting in May. For the uninitiated, American Dream is Shannon Carter, the daughter of Sharon Carter (or Agent 13 of SHIELD - in the current Marvel Universe continuity, Carter has been revealed to be pregnant with the late Steve Rogers aka Captain America’s child).

As far as the MC2 Universe is concerned, Shannon is the leader of the Dream Team, which comprises herself, Bluestreak, Crimson Curse and Freebooter. They were inducted into A-Next, MC2’s version of the Avengers by Jarvis and Mainframe in their first comic book appearance in A-Next #4 in 1999.

I am, too. The MC2 books are fun reads, and that's the best I've ever seen Nuack's art look.

I'll be there. Wish DeFalco's M2 were the "real" Marvel Universe today.

Looks very 80s. Not necessarily a bad thing, it's when I grew up, but nevertheless.

Thank you for posting this page especially. This sequence of panels should be pasted to the wall of every comic company's bullpen as a lesson on how to portray a superheroine.

That art looks great. I dig DeFalco's Spider-Girl. Hence, I'm in.

That would be great, wouldn't it?

It's what the Marvel U would be today if the 1980s were its past.

Wow, I like that art a lot. Nauck has really improved since Young Justice.

Love Nauck's stuff. But didn't we have the discussion of her parentage before? That Shannon is Sharon's niece, not daughter?

Not that I mind - I was hoping that she would be the daughter of both Sharon and Steve when we had that discussion.

I'm not quite sure who to hate more. The person who wrote that huge spoiler of a blurb, or you, Matt! :x

Sorry, Jeff. I quoted the blurb from Newsarama and didn't even think of it as a spoiler.

Sorry to keep reposting this image. It gives me goosebumps a little every time I look at it ... it's found the kiddie button inside me. :) The page is just so right.

I can't imagine how they'd find the books in this day and age, but I hope some little girls read this story and get a lifelong role model out of it. :)

Fine, then I'll reserve my ire for the writer and not the messenger. :) That's ok though, seriously, because I won't be reading this Cap stuff for many months yet. I'm getting older, and will forget.

Great misdirect on Jeff, Matt. Even better that you followed it up with that reply. Maybe now he'll be convinced that blurb you edited is true. Sharon's pregnant. Ha! Ha! Right!

Judging from her costume, I think my wish has been granted too.
