Seriously. This is a kickass song for a couple of slices of white bread.

Let me know when there's a Hall & Nash appreciation thread.

I'm a fan.

Sara Smile is one of my all time favorite songs.

Not too many people know this, but Hall and Oates used to be a lot harder before they hit it big.

If I were writing a detective novel, I would totally name the main character "Holland Oats".

Hall did a great acoustic version if She's Gone on Howard Stern recently.

I like a lot of Hall and Oates songs. My favorite is probably "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)." Other favorites include "One on One," "Family Man," "Say It Isn't So," "She's Gone," "Adult Education," and most of the songs from Big Bam Boom.

Let's hear it for Tom T. Hall and Joyce Carol Oates! :yay:

Seriously though, I bet I have more H&O CDs than anybody else at IMWAN--except for Renny, maybe.

This one's probably in my top 20 all-time faves by anybody.

Yes! We got them at Tower Records for an in-store performance back in '97. That was a fun mini-concert. They sounded great.
We had a platform built over the reception desk and had to move all the CD racks to the back of the store. We were packed!

For a large portion of January, Hall & Oates were my #1 friend on MySpace.

I haven't clicked on any of the links and just the words "Hall and Oates" got the song "Private Eyes" stuck in my head.

You suck.

John Oates has always looked, to me, like he'd be quite comfortable as a porn star.

That said, they're fellow Temple University alumni -- be true to your school! -- and I like many of their songs. "One on One", "Say It Isn't So", "You Make My Dreams (Come True)", "Adult Education", and "Method of Modern Love" are some of my favorite H&O tunes.

Love da Private Eyes and I Can't Go for That.

When I received my first "Walkman" style radio (though the Walkman wasn't out yet), Hall and Oates were big. I'll always associate them with the age when I first began to notice what music I really liked.

How sad for me.

Did anyone see the Behind The Music parody on Saturday Night Live that featured Chris Kattan as John Oates?? Pretty funny stuff.

I have their two CD best of from a few years back (It's since been reissued as one of the Essential series) and it has everything I could ever want from them on it.
