I was reorganizing my DVD collection yesterday and found a few movies that I'd bought and only watched once. Good movies some of them, but not one's I've been interested in viewing since the day I brought them home.

The movies include:

War of the Worlds (the one with Tom Cruise)
Saw
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (liked Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith, but hated the one in the middle)
Finding Nemo
Old School
Daredevil

Then I have a bigger stack of movies that I've watched all the way through once, but every once in a while pop them back in just to watch certain scenes. These include:

Hulk
Ghost Rider
Superman Returns
Team America: World Police
Star Trek Nemesis
Jaws
Patton

Anybody else have movies they seldom, if ever watch that they own?

Oh jeez....I've got probably 30 individual DVDs I've not even taken the shrink wrap off of, and about 15 box sets that've never been opened.

I have several -- purchasing a DVD has now become something totally unrelated to watching it.

I bought Casino Royale out of sheer admiration for it -- still shrink-wrapped.

Ditto Rocky Balboa. Ditto Finding Neverland.

No. Way.

Cannot answer this question.

We have 270 movies in our "To watch" folder. I've no idea how many DVD's we actually OWN because I stopped counting at 2,000 about a year ago. It would be easier to address those we HAVE watched more than once:

Star Trek box sets...
Mallrats
Lord of the Rings
Usual Suspects
Army of Darkness
The IT Crowd (DAMN funny stuff)

When I discover this anomaly, I usually sell off the DVD in question.

DARK CITY comes to mind.

I usually end up with a surplus of DVDs when I go rummaging through the 2 for $10 bin at Wal Mart. I'll end up with a minimum of six new DVDs when I hit that.

In fact, here's the most recent score from the bin, just two days ago (and none of these have been opened)

- World Trade Center
- The Siege
- Escape from New York
- Escape from L.A.
- Big Trouble in Little China
- Tomb Raider
- Mission Impossible III
- Paycheck
- Stargate Ultimate Edition
- Good Night & Good Luck

Every 6 months or so, I pop Dark City in the DVD player, with the intention of FINALLY finishing it. I still fall asleep somewhere around the halfway point.

Everybody keeps telling me what an awesome movie it is. Awesome at curing insomnia, I s'pose.

The only reason I've watched any DVD i own more than once is because someone else wanted to see it.

"Oh cousin Jo, you haven't seen Spider-Man, sure we can watch it."

Otherwise, I don't re-watch.

I haven't finished 3:10 to Yuma yet. I only got 15 minutes into Stardust. I bought the Bourne Ultimatum, and haven't watched it yet, but I saw it in the theater. I watched Battlestar Galactica: Razor on Sci-Fi, and mainly just bought the DVD to complete the DVD season sets I own (I haven't rewatched them, either!). I still can't get all the way through Live Free or Die Hard for some reason, either.

Mainly, I buy DVDs for my wife to watch while she's stuck at the hospital on call. I eventually watch them, but it's after a long delay.

Same here. I did finish it, though, mainly out of spite.

(Sweet Melissa George nude scene.) :D

Most of the movies I own, I rarely watch. They are all movies I definitely want to have on hand, whenever the mood strikes me, but I rarely watch movies at home. I have a few that I have NEVER watch, despite owning for a while. They are--

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
The Jacket
Curse of the Golden Flower
The Twilight Samurai
The Hole (damn you Keira Knightley! promises of your nakedness have caused me to purchase this and the Jacket)
Pirates of the Caribbean ( I've seen parts of this ihere and there, but have never sat down for the entire thing. once again, Keira.)
Broken Flowers

That's just off the top of my head. Then there are films I have seen, but haven't watched the copies I bought, like Batman and 7 Samurai.
