A Valentine Song

In February of 2005, Dan went to Colorado for a few weeks to supervise
some ranch business and to do some work in the studio. I stayed in Maine
to oversee the final construction phase of our Maine house. It was hard for us
to be so far apart for so long, especially since we would miss Valentine's Day together.

On the afternoon of the 14th, the florist brought me a dozen long-stemmed red roses;
FedEx brought me a CD with a song Dan had written for me just for Valentine's Day.
The song is called "Sometimes A Song", and it will be available for digital download
at iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and WalMart.com the week of Valentine's Day.

100% of proceeds from all digital sales will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

The regular PBS channel here is only showing it one night. I hope it isn't a pledge drive night. The local HD PBS is showing it a ton, but I'm not set up for hd.

I watched the 2004 PBS Soundstage special tonight. It was really disappointing. To me Dan's first 4-7 albums (at minimum Home Free-Netherlands) are at the top of the singer Songwriter genre, along with CSNY, Bruce Cockburn & Jackson Browne.

Unfortunately, Dan went much farther downhill musically then the others after his peak (it could be argued that Cockburn is still at his peak after a dip in the 90's).I'm pretty sure I saw Fogelberg 3 times before Innocent Age, & all were pretty good (though one of his 70's shows was the first time I saw a major act using a sequencer & I was pretty pissed off; at the time he was a major artist & could have afforded a keyboard player!). I also saw him 3 times after IA. I don't particularly like Greetings From The West or 2000's Live. Tonight's show was by far the worst I ever saw him, other a couple moments on guitar I felt like I was watching a mediocre smooth jazz or country show.

I hope they have some 70's concerts in the vault that will see the light of day.

Elliot Scheiner is in the studio working on the final mixing. There are so many
beautiful Henry Diltz photos of Dan to choose from, and we want to hear from

The tribute concert has proven challenging, but our wonderful friend Irving Azoff is
on it. We think we will start with a tribute album and see if a concert will come from
that.

Deborah and Laurie will be coordinating "Dan Fogelberg ~ Te Living Legacy
Tribute Concert" to be held in Austin, TX later in the year. We have so many wonderful
musician friends in Austin, I know it's going to be a very moving and special event.

There are other grassroots tribute concerts planned: one in Peoria, IL on Sept. 13th,
and one in Amarillo, TX on October 23rd to benefit the PCF. "
