All the pieces were there – last month, Dan DiDio told us that writer James Robinson would be returning to DC “n a very strong and positive way.” In April, writer Kurt Busiek will end his run on Superman. And the third piece – Geoff Johns commented on the writer coming on to Superman: “I have a great relationship with him, he’s one of my favorite writers of all time.”
Getting the picture yet?
For those still scratching their heads, DC Comics has confirmed for Newsarama that James Robinson will be the new regular writer on Superman starting with issue #676 in June (picture to the right). The series will be Robinson’s first work at DC since the “Face the Face” story which was the initial “One Year Later” story in the Batman and Detective Comics series in 2006, and his first work on an ongoing series writer since his acclaimed Starman series which ran from 1994 through 2001.
Look for more from Robinson in the coming days here at Newsarama.
Update: DC Comics has confirmed that Renato Guedes will remain on as the series' regular artist.

Glad to hear Guedes is sticking around, since his run has barely started. I've loved Busiek's Superman, and Robinson's one of my top five writers, so I'm fine with him taking over.

The classic super-hero series STARMAN, starring a Gen-X super-hero, is re-presented in high quality format.
The super-heroic legacy of Starman is renewed in these stories, in which Jack Knight -- antiques collector and dealer -- inherits the name and powers of his father's old Starman identity from his older brother, who has been assassinated. Reluctantly adjusting to his role, Jack reinvents the look of Starman, ditching the traditional red and green in favor of black leather and aviator goggles. But Jack has inherited more than a heroic identity from his brother . . . he's also gained a foe: the beautiful but mentally unbalanced Nash, daughter of the villain known as the Mist. Jack also must come to grips with The Shade, the morally ambiguous former villain who decides to become Jack's mentor. Product Details

What issues does that cover?
When I finish reading Preacher, I'll either pick that up or go with Fables then Starman.
Gawd, too much to read. If only I picked this stuff up the first time...

Call me an insane a$$h*le, but I bought the first Starman trade after hearing all the hoopla, and was pretty unimpressed.

Word is the screenwriter strike is over this weekend. The next thing we'll hear is that Robinson is only doing "a very special issue" of Superman.

I kept going though, and it gets better with every issue. Overall on of the better comic runs I've read, with a nice beginning, middle, and end...rare in superhero comics by their nature.

Sorry fellas, but one trade is more than enough for me-- most people will only give an issue to try something out.
For me, it was that it seemed overly sentimental and tried to be "deep" and came up short-- I didn't like it for the same reason I don't like Astro City.
