Does anyone have any info on the Rory Gallagher reissues that are coming out in March ? I know his brother (who is in charge of all his recordings) cut off ties with Buddha records and has found a new deal. Rory's first 5 or 6 releases are coming out in March , will these contain the bonus tracks that were on the Buddha releases ? Any info is appreciated.
Thanks , Don

I sure hope they are mastered properly and not over compressed like the Capo/Buddah releases.

I had no problems whatsoever with the original remasters-I still listen to them all the time (especially Against The Grain, Irish Tour and Calling Card) and I'm not buying them again. I didn't find them loud or distorted in any way at all, and they were very clean sounding to me. Guess it goes back to the old adage that we all hear things differently.
Rory was a frickin' genius-I'm sure we can agree on that!

I totally agree. In fact, I was going to post the exact same thing you did! I bought the entire series, & sonically they're awful. The worst sounding of the bunch is my favorite RG album, Tatoo. I ended up keeping my early UK edition of Tatoo/Blueprint for listening & the US remaster for the bonus tracks.

To my ears, on my systems the entire series tends to be screechy sounding likely due to the compression.

I really would be interested to find out if the new versions are newly mastered, though I am really getting sick of buying the same 1,000 releases over & over again especially when the RIAA keeps threatening lawsuits for looking at a cd the wrong way that I've BOUGHT multiple times.

I wish there was an alternative mastering of "Photo-Finish" on CD. This was just masterd (badly) one time. I'll keep listening to the LP in the meantime.
