I've noticed an interesting phenomenon in myself regarding watching sports -- when I was a child, and well into my teens, I hated football and loved baseball. Sometime in the mid-'80s (before the '85 Bears, but that helped), this reversed itself, so that I became enamored of watching football and grew to be disinterested in baseball. My interest flipped again when my former stepdaughter was playing league softball during the '90s. This past summer, while spending time with my mother as she grieved over the loss of my stepfather, I came to absolutely despise watching baseball (the folks used to watch the Cubs together, so she made me sit through nearly the entire season).

So I go through cycles. Ask me again in 10 years and I might say baseball is my favorite sport to watch and that I despise football.

Pro wrestling. My favorite non-scripted sport would be MMA/shoot fighting.

Professional Football is one of my favorites, with Hockey a close 2nd(could be my love of all teams Pittsburgh). To play, I used to hit the Tennis courts but I don't get to as much anymore.

College football! I love it. I enjoy pro football too, but not nearly the way I love college football. I feel like NFL sometimes focuses on showmanship over skill, and though that attitude certainly isn't absent from college ball, it just doesn't seem to have the same prevalence. Plus, it's hard sometimes for me to find something compelling about watching multimillionaires play a game they are able to devote 100% of their time to perfecting. The college players are a little hungrier, and have to balance football with being a student. Plus, there's obviously not the kind of team shuffling you see in the NFL, so it's easier for me to have an allegiance to a certain school's coach & players (especially if, ahem, I attended the school in question). I just love love love watching it.

After college football is over, though, I will get football withdrawal and NFL football cures that quite nicely. :)

Love watching college basketball. Nothing like March Madness. I used to take vacation on the first two days of the tournament just so I could sit around and watch games all day. Second would be high school football and baseball. Sports I enjoy playing include basketball and volleyball.

Hiking! It takes place outdoors, it's all about participation, and I can do it by myself if (as is usually the case) there's nobody doing it with me. And I get to see some of nature's beauty while I'm at it.

You forgot tennis. I'd say it's more of a sport than golf. Plus it's the only sport I play.

Boxing to watch, but it's got to be heavyweight. I don't do sports myself anymore.
