Scheduled for release in Japan at the end of January 2008 are all of the albums recorded by every incarnation of Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, and Starship in mini-album sleeves. It does not include Paul Kantner or Grace Slick offshot projects... I bet these will be very cool, especially "Bark" and "Long John Silver", as I'm sure the artwork will be faithfully recreated!

Please please please let this series include the Flight Log comp, which has never been issued on CD. It's got one really good Jefferson Starship song that can't be found elsewhere. And it would make a neat mini-lp release, to boot!

If that is the case the current Bob Irwin discs will do just fine. They are outstanding :D

They're supposed to have bonus tracks and K2 hd mastering.

It'll be good to get "Nuclear Furniture" back in print.

Unlike the Doors, I'm willing to go 'round one more time (No. 4) with JA/JS. A few quick questions fer ya:

Ms. Linda - Any sites listing pre-orders for all the whole batch, be it collectively or separately?

All - Does ANY previous CD version of "Takes Off" have the TRUE mono and stereo versions? I have the original 1966 mono pressing that contains different lyrics for "Run Around" and "Let Me In," not to mention the word "trips" is intact on "Runnin' 'Round This World" just like the original B-side of the single. I've been told that the most recent BMG remaster from a few years back still contains that insipid guitar twang where the word should be, so I never bought it. Will I always have to play the LP? Any word of what these new Mini-LP's will feature (other than faithfull artwork reproduction)? Please advise.

P.S. Hope everyone is having a great New Year's Day.

The BMG remaster does not duplicate the album in mono but it does have the mono, uncensored single version of Runnin' Round This World as one of the bonus tracks. I just listened to it and "trips" is back in. It also contains uncensored versions of Let Me In and Run Around among the bonus tracks.

For Rock N Roll Elitist, The Japanese mini sleeve of "Takes Off" lists the original versions of Run Around, Let Me In, and Runnin Round This World as bonus tracks. I may still be able to order them if you want them, but my distributor can't take more orders until Jan. 6th. If you are interested, send me a pm.
