Product Description
The 16th September 2007 was the 30th anniversary of Marc Bolan’s untimely death in a car accident on Barnes Common, two weeks before what would have been his thirtieth birthday.

To commemorate this special anniversary, Edsel is proud to issue this limited edition, numbered 3 CD Deluxe Book Set, featuring the definitive array of hits, album tracks, live versions, alternate takes, home demos, and advertising jingles, along with brief interview segments, all carefully sequenced.

Amongst the 92 tracks are 24 studio outtakes, 14 home demos and 18 radio jingles, interview and spoken word segments, all of which have been unavailable since 1996. The a-sides include “Metal Guru”, “Telegram Sam”,“Children Of The Revolution”, “20th Century Boy” and many more.

The special hardback book features a particularly striking photo of Marc Bolan, a still taken from his now-wiped Top Of The Pops performance of “New York City”. A die-cut hole reveals a full-colour version of the photo.

The 28 page colour book contains full annotation by Mark Paytress, Bolan authority and author of the definitive Marc Bolan biography, as well as many previously unpublished photos by Barry Plummer.

Which reminds me--didja ever notice that T. Rex's "Christmas Bop" single is basically a bald-faced rewrite of Darlene Love's "Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)"?

The most reissued artist in history? Bolan seems to have more outakes & alternates then the Beatles & Hendrix combined!

I have this set somewhere in my archives and I remember disc 2 & 3 being bloody awful. They really deserved to be out-takes.
Marc Bolan sadly was not the same after about 1973, his music and songwriting lost it's spark.

Thanks Darryl, I thought so, I have the original boxset "Wizard" and that will hold me over.

IIRC, they didn't even change the order of the songs.
