Does Anyone Know Anything ...

about this Queen CD release? I have not seen a US press release nor a listing on any music site except for the import release.

Looks like the article sums it up - a re-release of the old "We Will Rock You" film with a new name on DVD with a simultaneous CD release on October 30th. HD-DVD and Blu-Ray versions to follow in November. Tracklisting is in the article.

The old DVD version of this (titled "We Will Rock You") is still listed at CD Universe. Seems like an odd choice for a "new" Queen issue, but at least it's not another comp.

From the article:
Tracklisting: Intro, 'We Will Rock You' (fast), 'Let Me Entertain You' 'Play The Game', 'Somebody To Love', 'Killer Queen', 'I'm In Love With My Car', 'Get Down Make Love', 'Save Me', 'Now I'm Here', 'Dragon Attack', 'Now I'm Here' (reprise), 'Love Of My Life', 'Under Pressure', 'Keep Yourself Alive', Drum & Timpani Solo, Guitar Solo, 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love', 'Jailhouse Rock', 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'Tie Your Mother Down', 'Another One Bites The Dust', 'Sheer Heart Attack', 'We Will Rock You', 'We Are The Champions', 'God Save The Queen'.

The big news in the article is that a second disc in the DVD set will contain highlights from their "Live Aid" performance.

EDIT: http://www.queenonline.com mentions that EMI/Parlophone is releasing the CD and LP on October 29th in the UK and the 30th worldwide.

Here it is:

Two-CD Set

Recorded in Montreal, Quebec in November 1981, when Queen were arguably the biggest hard rock band in the world thanks to their string of chart-topping singles and LPs (culminating in the previous year's THE GAME), QUEEN ROCK MONTREAL captures the band in their full prog-pop glory. All of the hits and a strong handful of fan favorites are here, performed with both impeccable skill and surprising, almost punky, energy: the opening "We Will Rock You" is taken at nearly twice the studio version's tempo.

1. Intro
2. We Will Rock You (Fast)

It's not quite a rerelease. The old version was touched up with redubs in the studio, but for this new version they went back to the original concert audio. So the performances are a bit different, and certainly more authentic than they had been.
