Now that we have the playoff albatross no longer hanging
around our necks, the disturbances in the force will cease
and the Yankees will return to their rightful place as the

The Yankees were planning to offer A-Rod a contract extension of five years and about $135 million to $140 million, a deal that would have kept the two-time MVP in pinstripes through his 40th birthday. The Yankees had not yet made the offer, as they were trying to set up a face-to-face meeting with agent Scott Boras and A-Rod, a meeting that never happened.

Not unless George gets better and teaches Hank how to run things. If Hank is truly the man in charge, it's going to be hard times in Gotham.

I don't see how the Yankees could consider hiring a guy who argued with the owner of his club (never mind he was justified in his position when he did so).

I get the policy, but truthfully, outside of Boston, the World Series was mostly a snooze. So this livened it up a bit.
What you really mean is, we New Yorkers are the center of the universe, so what happened here with the Yankees and ARod is more important than the Red Sox winning the series.

I don't know. They seem to be saying what they said.

That's sour grapes, IMO.

The Yanks have just offered the job to Joe Girardi, according to ESPN radio in NY. The will be announced tommorrow. This means Brian Cashman still has power in the Yankee orginazation
But then again, A-Rod did say it was about whether Posada, Rivera, Pettite and others would be there.
Seems to me he is saying that "Hey, we spend $200 million every year, this will be a competitive team."
A-Rod should've give the Yanks the 10 days and not use the excuse of wether or not they sign Rivera, Posada and Pettite. With A-Rod it is about the money.
