Delivery is fine, and home-made is better, but I'm taking the kids out to an honest-to-gosh pizzeria for dinner tonight! Mmmmmm Pepperoni and Sausage. What's *your* favorite?

Heydan! Which one you goin' to? Pete's Pizza's always a good choice.
Historically, I like CanBac & Sausage, but in college, I was all about the Teriyaki Steak that Pipeline had. These days, I find myself making BBQ chicken on Boboli quite a bit (with Longhorn Sauce, natch).

I love lots of different toppings; pepperoni & sausage are always good to start with, and other meats such as ground beef, meatball, and bacon are pretty good as well. I also like a few "extras" such as onions, peppers, olives, and ocassionally anchovies. Not all at the same time, of course, but at least three or four of these combined can make for a good pizza.
However, the best pizza I ever ate was at a restaurant called "Athens House of Pizza" in suburban Atlanta. The restaurant was owned by a Greek family, and one of their specialties was pastrami pizza. It was incredible; sadly, I've never been able to find it anywhere else.

I'm allergic to pizza. The doctors aren't sure what specifically in it causes it, but the two times I have eaten it I had to be rushed to the hospital. I can eat cheese, tomato sauce, any of the ingredients individually, but combine them and it's like kryptonite for me.
That concludes today's depressing interlude. Now back to our regularly scheduled thread.

Sicilian style? Like the pizza I got at Mama Oolio's outside the naval air base in Sicily? About 10 miles from Catania?
I love her pizza. She'd toss the dough, then lay it down on her table, and pour some olive oil on it. She then put some tomato sauce on it. Then she poured some olive oil. Then some pepperoni. You might think she'd put some oil on it. You'd be right. Then she'd put on some eggplant, then some olive oil. Then some mushrooms, then some olive oil, then some peppers, then some olive oil, then some cheese.
Then she'd cook it in a brick oven at about 2000 degrees for about 5 minutes.
Oh... man... her pizza's were good. I think the oil was just to keep it from incinerating.

So, American-Sicilian. Not Sicilian-Sicilian. Hehe. (sorry... I guess I get that from being an obnoxious sailor living in Sicily for 3 years).

Hank -- the last trip to a pizzeria, I took the kids to Petes on Northwest Boulevard. The *hated* the pizza (it's TOOOOO cheesy!) -- when I told them tonight we were going OUT for pizza, they all sighed and said they didn't want to go.
So, we went to a pizza "parlor" instead of a pizzeria -- Five Mile Heights Pizza. It's not bad pizza, I'm just not thrilled with their crust. All of the kids loved it though. <sigh>
Rocky Rococco's is still my favorite.. their sausage is to *die* for!

I try to be sure to only eat chinese food from places that have Chinese people eating there.
As for Pizza... mmmm... If I'm at a REAL NY pizzaria - Original Ray's at 72nd and Columbus taught me NY Pizza back in 1988 - anything more than just Cheese is a waste. At a NY Style pizza place, which is all I can get here, anything more than Pepperoni is a waste.
Otherwise, gimme Meat - Good sausage, pepperoni, salami, ham, lingucia... everything but ground beef - and Mushrooms.

Rocky Rococco's is still my favorite.. their sausage is to *die* for! At Pete's, I always get a calzone. I don't even remember what the pizza's like. I'm not sure I remember the pizza at 5MH, either, because they were always more about the games. I remember it was the first place in town with a ball crawl, and they were "Critter McCoon's" briefly in the early '80s, with an adjoining building as a HUGE arcade where the games were all a dime. I think the annex burned down, IIRC, but they were able to save the original 5MH Pizza and they changed their name back. That could all be way off, history-wise, but it's been 20 years and that's how I remember it. And HUGE thumbs-up for Rocky Roccoco's. Sausage on the whole-wheat crust is like a slice of Heaven. Heaven with really good pizza. I didn't go there enough, because I wasn't often downtown.
