What do you think of the whole JR firing, Linda? And, what happened to Stephanie McMahon's voice? It's deeper than mine now.

J.R. needed colon surgery, so as usual they made up a storyline to explain his absence. (No opportunity wasted.) The website said that J.R. might be an Internet-only announcer when he returns, overseeing the two shows that are webcast now, and PPVs and such.

I think Stephanie's taking steroids.

Apparently, Vince McMahon made a big push to hire Mike Goldberg away from UFC, and wanted to debut him as the replacement for Ross, but Goldberg turned him down at the last minute. McMahon doesn't want JR back, but apparently will be forced into it unless he can find a decent replacement.

How could anyone replace J.R.? ('Course I felt that way about Mean Gene too ...)

Jim Ross is the best announcer in wrestling today, and one of the best ever. Removing him from RAW because of his age or because he's not photogenic enough for some people is ridiculous.

Oh, McMahon's blind spot ... I swear, he's messed up (or altogether lost) more quality performers due to him not thinking they're the right height or weight or "look" ... he ruined Rikishi, ruined the Big Show, Bundy, countless others. Great businessperson in general, but he has that one blind spot. Not everybody in the audience wants to see an endless parade of steroided dullards like Triple H. It's better to have lots of distinct, entertaining personalities in different shapes and sizes.

You nailed it on the head. Vince has a weakness for "the look" and can't seem to get past it anymore. It is amazing that he can't see how promoting people for their look alone is how he ended up with the Ultimate Warrior. Mick Foley wasn't good enough for Vince's 80's WWF and would not make the cut as a newbie in today's WWE either. JR pushed and pushed Mick until Vince finally relented and gave Mick a legit shot.

With idiots like Johnny Ace in charge of talent and roid warriors like HHH in his ear, it is a wonder Vince hasn't gone the way of WCW.

According to wrestlingobserver.com, Mr. Kennedy will be out several months because of a torn lat muscle, a worse tear than the one sidelining Batista.
