That's a wonderful run, made especially better because of Darwyn Cooke's beautiful, beautiful art.

That said, I'm enjoying his Cap run, but not his X-men.

For people like me. I'm scared of going upstairs.

It's usually the other way around for most people.

I can't fathom why.

That said, I am enjoying what I've read so far. While I may not follow him to any and every project (due to character apathy) his name will help sway me if I'm on the fence about purchasing a book.

Ed B is the best in the business at the moment. I have just received my Cap omnibus today and looking through it only reinforces my appreciation for what this guy does.

Cap, DD, Iron Fist, and Criminal are four of the best comics out right now.

Perfect examples. Love Cap.

Cannot stand the character of Daredevil, so I avoid the book.

Saw Brubaker on Iron Fist, willing to give it a shot.

Isn't he also on an X book? That still is not enough to get me back to the franchise.

His work on Uncanny X-men, I don't like it.

He's decent on Daredevil, but I am sick of this direction for DD by now.

He was very good on Cap, at least as long as there was a cap. That's where he really shined for me.

Books of Doom was pretty decent too.

His X-Men run, for me, has ranged from mediocre to startlingly boring (based on the Shi'ar story arc), so I don't count that.

The X-Men is Bru's weakest book (still good mind you) If you want a solid and mostly stand alone book Peter David's X-factor is the one to go for.

Please do. The absolute best superhero run in recent years. One of the only things I re-read constantly and always enjoy. It's a perfect mixture of fun superheroics and grim and gritty. Selina's character is a realistic portrayal of someone trying to do right in her life and her supporting cast is wonderful. The first arc is probably the weakest, but once he has everything established, it really shines. The art by Cam Stewart is beyond incredible as well. I liked him better than Cooke.

All the good stuff has all been promptly thrown out the window after he left, but his run is f-ing fantastic.

For all the people who love his Cap, DD, etc. Pick up Gotham Central and Catwoman. I'm a bigger Marvel fan than DC, but I was pretty disappointed when Brubaker left just because of these titles. Until I found out the move was to my two favorite Marvel heroes. Then I was happy again.

If you've read CW recently, forget what Pfiefer has done to the character and read Brubaker's run. If only they had kept with it, I feel it is similar to what Frank Miller did to Daredevil, finding a character and recrafting the concept to what suits it perfectly.

Do it. Do it already.

And my favorite TPB of the run is Crooked Little Town in case anyone is looking for someplace to start.

Gotham central is great stuff. A great series badly missed by me and ignored by the buying public sadly. As for Catwoman Cookes art has always put me off from reading it. The more of Brubaker I read though the more I know I will eventually get around to it though.

I think Gotham Central was the first thing of his that I read, and I really enjoyed 99% of it. I just didn't like how the series ended (smacked of Infinite Crisis nonsense).

I don't think Brubaker had much to do with that ending. While I liked the Corrigan arc, I disliked that aspect of it as well. I think part of the reason Brubaker left was the growing editorial control at DC and the move towards "universe building" (as well as the opportunity to write higher-echelon characters).

Gotham Central was brilliant for Bru and Rucker.
