I loved this show before I ever saw it, because the opening credits were cool to a little kid. I had to go to bed when it started, so I didn't get to watch the earlier seasons, other than those credits. I stuck with it to the end (even during Coy and Vance) once I finally could though. Loved it, as I expected I would. :) Except the Coy and Vance year.

Looking on Wiki, I started watching in season 3. I remember I cried when Bo beat the crap out of Luke and left the farm to join a stunt team. (I'll probably wish I hadn't said that...but hey, I was only 10!)

I never watched it during its initial run, but tried some of the reruns when it was on TNN a few years back. I can say without hesitation that it was the stupidest show I've ever seen. But that's just me.

You're not far off. A year or so back I rented the first season, expecting it to be a fun nostalgic trip. Couldn't make it through the first disc. :) Some things are better left in the past.

I've had this experience with a lot of old tv shows from my own youth... "The Tommorrow People," "Dungeons & Dragons," and some episodes of "The Incredible Hulk" even...

Catherine Bach was great.

You know, I've always thought if you took out the great voice of that narrator of this show, it totally wouldn't have worked at all. What made it appealing to a youngster was a mythic quality juxtaposed with a certain "armpit noise" silliness.

I have yet to watch a full episode of Smallville. I saw most of the one with Aquaman, and about half of 10 or 12 episodes. By the time I had "other means" of watching television besides making sure I was home to see it when broadcast, I was too far behind to care.

I'd say last season was the high water mark for Smallville. If you catch the last couple of episodes of season 5 and then all of season 6, you'd be getting some prime comic book TV.

Thanks, I'll wait for Blockbuster online to have it available I think. Probably the easiest way at this point.

I still haven't gotten into the online video rental thing. I usually don't watch enough each month to make it worth my while. I should probably join in with a couple of friends who also don't watch many videos then we can get our money's worth from it.

At one point it paid for itself even if you didn't use it at all! Blockbuster gave you one free rental coupon each week, which added up to a few pennies more or less than it would have cost to just rent the movies without the service. Couple that with the constant stream of movies coming in, being able to add a hundred movies to the queue as I thought of them, and it was a no-brainer. Now, it's a little more expensive, and the coupon is gone. Still getting enough movies via in-store trade in or mail to justify it though.

I'm like you and I recomend Netflix. They (unlike Blockbuster) have super-cheapie plans for the low volume user, starting at 4.99 a month.

I've used both and the service was equal. But the price for the low volume renter is great under Netflix is great.

It really is a great way to rent movies. Just put it in your queue when you think about it. It shows up like magic at your doorstep. You can let it it sit there and rot until you feel like watching it. Then put it in the envelope and back it goes.

The problem for me with any of those monthly rental plans is there are months where I don't watch any DVDs at all. Plus I'm more of an impulse renter. If I hadn't been to the theater so much this past year, then there would be a bunch of movies coming out that I would rent. As it is, I'm mostly caught up. I think "Knocked Up" is the only one I have left to see.

Well, that's a legit concern. I've got The Queen sitting here for about six weeks. But it's nice to know I never have to worry about taking it back.
