"Tears On My Pillow"

>> The mass appeal of Nash is summed up very well by Charlie Gillett in the Sound Of The City where he wrote "the combination of his flawless vocal, a catchy pop song and the immaculate rhythm track overcame radio resistance to reggae. Nash's reggae rhythms supply the pulse, the horns, keyboards and Nash's voice carry his sound far beyond the audience which would just listen to a catchy dance number." All is present on this original LP from Nash in 1975 which spawned the title tracks as a #1 single in the US and UK in the same year, and included three songs written for him by his protégé Bob Marley. As well as the Reggae credentials the album also boasts contributions from the musical worlds of Jazz, African music, Rock, Soul from musicians including Herbie Hancock, Hugh Masakela, 'Rabbit' Bundrick, Bobby Womack and co-producer Bunny Sigler. RPM. 2007. <<

1. Why Did You Do It
2. Rock It Baby
3. I'm Comin' Home
4. Edge of Love
5. Tears on My Pillow
6. Reggae on Broadway

:o "Tears on My Pillow" didn't even chart on the Hot 100. I wonder if this write-up is really about I Can See Clearly Now?

I thought maybe that Amazon had the wrong description, but it's the exact same one that RPM's own website shows. :o

November 5th:

"My Merry-Go-Round"

Image

>> The Nashville born Reggae star's most acclaimed Long Playing achivement. Released in 1973, it doesn't feature any of the big crossover numbers that Nash would become famous for and was cruelly ignored by the public. Concentrating more on more soulful arrangements than the previous years' I Can See Clearly Now LP, it highlights his sweet vocal talents. A real gem. <<

1. My Merry Go Round
2. Nice Time
3. You Better Stop (Messing Around)
4. Gonna Open up My Heart Again
5. Ooh, What a Feeling
6. Love Is Not a Game
7. Loving You
8. Yellow House
9. (Oh Jesus) We're Trying to Get Back Toyou
10. Salt Annie Ginger Tree
