Not sure I wanna hear new remixes...they should've released ALL of the extended 12" EP Promo Only versions of the SNF songs that are in the vault. Maybe they'll do that on the Deluxe Edition of that one, if it ever sees tthe light of day.

It will be nice to have the Bee Gees' own version of "Warm Ride," one of my very favorite Rare Earth songs. A shame Roger Daltrey turned it down back in the day; THAT sure would have been interesting.

How bizarre that Rhino has chosen to release this in tandem with the SNF anniversary rather than a deluxe SNF itself; with this expanded GREATEST arriving the same day as the SNF special edition DVD, I doubt an expanded soundtrack is in the cards. Strange...
Joe, wondering if ODESSA will surface in 2007 as promised, as well...

I don't see how this, even with the lame remixes, can come close to upstaging the more recent and far superior sound of Bee Gees, Their Greatest Hits, The Record. It came out in 2001 and has everything needed. This other redo is pointless.
Now if you are a true Bee Gees collector, Classic Records or Rhino (late can't rmemeber now sorry) is putting out a very very very limited edition 6 LP 200g box set with an incredible book all mirroring the recent box of their first three records. This vinyl box is supposed to be beautiful and not too expensive at $120.
I am very tired right now so my facts my be a little off. If I am please ask tomorrow and i will double check or you can fix it for me. But I am close. I don't know the BG during this time period but this box sounds too good to pass up.
Like the upcoming vinyl Doors box of Perception. I am already drooling over that one @$150 and it's ultra limited as well, so don't tell many people ok. Sssshhhhhhhhh

I've been listening to this reissue this afternoon at work. Sounds good, but even with "Warm Ride" and the remixes, there would've been plenty of room for "Boogie Child," which peaked at #12, and "Edge of the Unverse," released as a single from the live album and charted at #26.
P.S. "Nights on Broadway" is an incredible pop song.

Actually, it was the "new track" on the original LP version of Bee Gees Greatest in 1979, so at that time it was "previously unreleased." Got a good deal of airplay, even though it wasn't issued as a single.

I seem to remember that song being a big hit for Andy Gibb, but I can't say whether or not his version was issued before the version from his brothers.

A year before his brothers version appeared on "Greatest"

Interesting that the fifteenth track on disc 2, Stayin' Alive (Teddybears Remix) is not printed on the back cover but is listed on the foldout insert.

Wow...gotta disagree with you on the sound of that comp. Way over maximized to my ears.
The best sounding versions of their pre-1990 stuff is still to be found on the out-of-print boxed set, IMO.
Just listening to these new remasters on Rhapsody and iTunes, they sound like they could be as good as the box, or possibly better.
But those remixes are unlistenable to me.

I don't understand the point of these remixes. Who exactly are they targeted at? Obviously older fans aren't going to like them, so why not add other tracks like "Boogie Child", as Jimbo mentioned?
I haven't heard the new remixes, but if they're anything like the remixes that were on the Queen CD's, they must be awful...

Why, they're targeted at the kiddies, silly! Why go for Kanyeezy or Fitty when you can discover your parents faves, all nicely packaged for your own listening pleasure?
As for the remixes...some of the Queen ones are more listenable than these, IMHO. Think "Ibiza Nightclub".

Though I've already got the superb CD edition of "The Studio Albums 1967-68",I would have also bought the vinyl edition,if it had everything in the CD edition, but alas Rhino decided that vinyl collectors didn't want or need both the stereo & mono mixes on vinyl,so they've omitted the mono mixes from the vinyl edition.I think that I'll pass.

It's an unnecessary reissue...but definitely worth $9.99. Wal-Mart or Target (can't recall correctly) actually had it for $5.99 on Black Friday.

There was a remix of "Stayin' Alive" featured in CSI:NY a couple of weeks ago. I wondered if it was the same one that's on this comp? If so, it was horrible!
