I like the original crew and the original movies. I feel there has been a lack of fun from the franchise in quite some time, and a lack of "boldly going". I feel they are too tied up in what the die hards want and every single rule and continuity they set forth in the past. I think they could use more adventure, a little less techno babble, and just cut loose. Get the big things right and don't worry about contradicting something minor. It needs to kick ass again, make people dream again, become relevant again.
It reminds me in some ways these days of the X-men franchise at its worst.

Hmm...is this thread for people who don't like Star Trek or for people who don't like Trekkies? 'Cause according to the title, it should be for people who don't like Star Trek, but there aren't any anit-Trek posts, only anti-Trekkies. And that's false advertising. Taft, you should be ashamed.
