Lucas intends to release the trailer around November 2007, when the film's title would have been unveiled.[37] However, Shia LaBeouf announced it earlier at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards on September 9, 2007

I did some searching and:

Quote:
A crystal skull is a model of a human skull made out of clear quartz crystal. A modern legend claims that there are 13 crystal skulls worldwide, of which five have actually been found, which have mystical powers and are of ancient origin. Such claims remain unproven. New skulls carved from crystal are made and sold regularly.

People who believe in the psychic power of crystal skulls say that the skulls are a center of radiant psychic energy and have the power to increase happiness and improve people's lives just by being held, handled and spoken with; others have suggested that crystal skulls can be used like crystal balls, to aid divination.

The healing and supernatural powers of crystal skulls have never been scientifically established. The scientific community at large has found no evidence of any unusual phenomena associated with the skulls nor any reason for further investigation.

Don't know for sure that is what they are talking about.

I'm compiling an enemies list, like Nixon.

Linda is now officially at the top.

You should at least see the first one. The other two are pretty crappy, but the first one is a lot of fun.

I like them all, but the first one IMO is the best. The second one is a real ride though and is probably my favorite from age 8 through 16 or so.

I also like the third one a lot. Just saw it again, in fact, at a free "movie in the park" showing. It was pretty neat. The crowd got into it.

All my childhood heroes are back or have come back recently. Rocky, Rambo, Die Hard, Indy, Star Wars, Turtles, Transformers. Heck even Captain Kirk is coming back. and all my childhood comic book heroes finally made it to the big screen or are planned.

Dare I hope for a He-Man and/or a Thundercats movie? :)

Straight out of my wheelhouse.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is the best adventure movie ever made. Bar none. Better than Star Wars, if you count it as "adventure" and not "fantasy".

Temple of Doom would have been a great book by itself, but the movie fails after the world-spanning grandeur of Raiders. In Raiders, Indiana Jones saves the world. In Temple, Indiana Jones saves a small Indian village. Plus, the in-jokes were a little too much. Also, it was a bit of a stretch to go from the strong leading lady of Karen Allen to the shrill shrinking violet of Kate Capshaw.

Then there's Crusade, which feels like fan-fiction, and bad fan-fic at that.
Characterization was nil. Almost everybody is a cartoon, even established characters like Sallah and Brody. Just shameful.

I like the idea of the further adventures of Indiana Jones, but so far, the execution has been lacking.

And not just cartoons, but incompetent buffoonish cartoons compared to how they'd been portrayed in RAIDERS.

DAC and I are of a mind on this one, methinks. I totally agree with the idea of liking the idea of Indiana Jones adventures more than the actual execution past RAIDERS.

I love all 3 Indy movies, in order 3,2,1. They are all highly entertaining action adventure movies with one of the greatest lead characters ever created for film. Perfectly cast too. If force to choose, I would rather have the 3 Indy movies than any of the Star Wars films. I think they are THAT good.

That's an argument that's supposed to sway us towards your point of view?

You lose a lot of court cases, don't you? "Your honor, my client is really cool. We hung out last night and he bought pizza." :yay:

Just noting that, coming at it from a different age than some of you, I have different experiences with it than others might.

Raiders-I was onlyh 4 when it came out. For much of my childhood it was the moreboring one. in my prime years as a kid, Temple was on tv constantly, and I wathced it over and over again.

But, I like most movies that I see. Probably 90-95%. Indy remains one my childhood heroes.

Not trying to convince anyone of anything :)

Call me nuts, but I liked all the Indy Jones movies. They're all just good ol' fun. I mean, once the theme music hits...

Hey, I like a good exciting action set piece, too. The motorcycle chase in Crusade is really well done, and you're right, Temple's mine chase is intense, especially with the comedic "hot foot" conclusion before the flood hits.

But a story is about more than just an exciting scene and ancillary video games to me.

You put a rousing John Williams theme behind anything and it usually gets me to like it a little bit more.

Heck, "SpaceCamp" is almost worthwhile. I watched NBC News just because I liked the music. :)

I liked em all too, in this order: 1, 3, 2. There is a large gap in overall quality between each though IMO.

4 will likely be okay for what it is, but I won't expect it to be as good as the first three. I'm hoping its more clever than I expect it will be. The title does little for me, but we'll see.

There was one in the Museum of Mankind in London. It didn't seem to be emenating any psychic powers when I saw it.

I have to say that I came to the Indiana Jones movies late (I was misled by the poster into thinking it was a Western :) ) but I thought the first one was the business - great pacing, great female lead, great male lead and fantastic locations.

The second one came across as unpleasantly sadistic with racist undertones and Harrison Ford was looking way too old for the part (I never thought I would say "Fer crissake Ford put yer shirt back on" but I did : ( ),

The third was just tacky - not even Sean Connery could save that one
