DC has apparently mandated that Superman doesn't bleed now. This won't last, but for right now, it's the law. How do you feel about that?

If he's facing something as or more powerful than him (such as Doomsday) yes, he should bleed. Not normally, but there are times he can face a threat that would make him bleed.

They seem determined to bring everything back about Superman I don't care for :)

I think he should, in instances like Rob mentioned. But it should be very extreme circumstances.

Someone is going to now create a poll that asks "Should Supergirl bleed?"

Won't be me though. I have a great deal of respect for menstration. (Maybe that's part of the reason I'm unmarried and unattached...)

Darkseid should be able to make him bleed.

I would assume that under the effects of green or gold kryptonite, he would have the potential to bleed as well. (Or red for that matter... also if he were affected by red sun rays.)

I agree with... uh, everyone. I'm not a huge Superman fan to begin with, but to the extent that I do enjoy some Superman stories, they're generally stories where he looks like he has a serious challenge on his hands, not a cakewalk. Never bleeding undermines that.

I think that when you cut Superman, musical steam should shoot from within him, playing an exotic but bold alien dirge.

Seriously? They can't even show him bleeding under a red sun? That sounds pretty dumb to me.

What are the reasons for this? Is it, because they want to show as being ultra-powerful, or are they worried about violent content?

DC is clearly not overly concerned about violent content these days, Bob. People being ripped in half, and all.

I think it's dumb to put out the "Superman can never bleed" rule. Sometimes that sort of thing can work well in a given storyline.

I don't have a problem with Supes bleeding, when that happens you know stuffs getting real. Providing writers do not overuse it.
