So simple, not much going on, not much of a gimmick, yet so, so much fun. It holds up very, very well. Still a minor classic.
Just thought you'd like to know.

Dude, it was awesome hitting the slide thingys that would let you get halfway across the side. Especially if your brother's piece was at the end and you got to knock him back to the start.
Sorry! was awesome.

We've been playing this as a family recently, and it's an absolute hoot. When Taft Jr. hits those slides Hank mentioned and bumps Mrs. Taft back to start, the whole table goes "Whoooaaa!" and the taunts begin. And then I get it and am taunted. And he gets it. So much fun.

I figure it's been twenty years since I've played this game. I don't remember it too well.
Is this the one with the twelve steps and the apologizing to everyone you've ever known?

I've never played Sorry.
Sorry
I liked Balderdash. or the one I played anyway which also had dates and scientific stuff to make up. I've heard they didn't have that in the original.

I love Sorry! but the game called Trouble was my absolute favorite. Same EXACT game as Sorry!, but you get to click a little dome with a die in it to determine how many spaces to move, instead of shuffling those Sorry cards and picking one.

We had Sorry! several years ago, but half my kids would be offended and angry for getting bumped back to the start.
It might be time to introduce this classic back to the family.
Where else can you actually knock a family member back to start, and feign sincere apology?

Trouble is also very cool. It lacks the slides of Sorry!, but it has the cool bubble thing.
I recently bought a three-pack of games at Toys R Us. For just $9 - nine bucks! - it had Spanish knockoffs of Trouble, Connect Four and Snakes & Ladders. The games were note-for-note identical to their American counterparts but had different names. Nine bucks!

That trouble came must be from BC. Sheesh, it looks old.

The ebay listing says 1965. My game board would have been circa 1975, so no altogether different. The board looked exactly the same. The box was more 70's "out there" instead of that My Three Sons look.

I played Trouble a couple of times. That was fun. there was this monster board game I had that was really cool. It was set in a dungeon and the cherecters were all famous monsters. It had the same bubble thing. Those are fun.

"Pop the dice in the magic bubble. It gets you in and out of trouble"
Sad I still have that echoing 'round the back of my brain.
Sorry was awesome fun! I wish it can with the little bell like on the Mama's family skits on the Carol Burnett Show.

I think that the "Pop-O-Matic" feature is so cool that it should be worked into Congress somehow.
And no, I don't know how, exactly. Just somehow.

Perhaps a replacement for toe-tapping?

There's always this version.
I'm not sure if that's an editorial comment though.

Sorry and Trouble are both really just variations of Parcheesi.
Which in no way invalidates how fun they all are.

We too are a Sorry family. Saturday is family game night, during the long Minnesota winters, and we combine it with classic movie night, so now our son has a pop culture awareness of most things 70's and 80's.
