An easy one this Friday: song titles that mention musical instruments, whether strumming, banging, plucking, or blowing. Bonus points to the first person who can identify the song that I nicked this week's title from.
While My Guitar Gently Weeps--Beatles
The Guitar--They Might Be Giants
Piano Man--Billy Joel
The Happy Organ--Dave "Baby" Cortez (showed up last Friday too!)
Bang the Drum All Day--Todd Rundgren
Sound Your Funky Horn--KC & the Sunshine Band (for Renny)
Alvin's Harmonica--Chipmunks

was just listening to The Mekons - Blow Your Tuneless Trumpet yesterday
Peter Laughner - Take The Guitar Player For A Ride
title of a posthumous comp, and a lyric from his forgotten classic song Amphetamine, Wilco also uses this line in Misunderstood
Nick Cave - The Lyre of Orpheus
"Orpheus strummed till his fingers bled
He hit a G minor 7
He woke up God from a deep, deep sleep
God was a major player in heaven"
gotta love Nick!

I had to. That was one of the first records I ever owned. My mother gave it to me when I was a kid, telling me she thought it was something I might like. She was right, and I probably drove her crazy playing it over and over.
