I'll get it, of course, but I would like have had something like this 20 years ago. Maybe from the Fables of the Reconstruction tour...

I will get this for sure but I wish they would start an "archive" series (like Neil Young's series except with a box set coming sooner)

Let the tracklist complaints begin! Particularly given the fact that relatively little early material is here, I'd love to see them put together a live set from the earlier days, perhaps around the time of their transition from IRS.

I've heard they do a lot of unusual covers in concert, or at least they used to. I'm only a casual REM fan but I would buy a collection of those.

If you compiled various REM promo releases and non-lp b-sides, you'd come up with a pretty good live collection.

Rarities? I see no rarities in the setlist !!

I am with you on this one, Walter P. Granted, songs from the latest album figure heavily in their current shows, but I would also like to see an official live release of earlier material. Their earliest live video "Tourfilm" dates from the "Green" album, their first on Warner Brothers.

For my money, as a fan from the first e.p., they were at their peak when it was just the four original members on stage. When they started supplementing their sound with additional musicians, they kinda lost sight of their muse.

What would have been really great is if they'd released the shows they did in Dublin this past July. I've got two great sounding boots and the new songs sound really good. This is probably the first time I've been excited about an REM album since Bill Berry left. Mark T.

I agree, it has a lot of fun energy to it.

Consider this post my complaint!

I have pretty much no interest in hearing 2005 R.E.M. live. Certainly not as an official release.

How about giving us an official CD version of the audio from Tourfilm? Or at least something from that era? They had crazy energy then. When they touch on songs from the 1980s these days, it sounds like they're going through the motions (which is understandable, of course).

I like eelkiller's idea. I'd like to see a LOT of long-running bands do something of that sort; just start getting official, good recordings of concerts from throughout the years out there.
