The CBS Line-Up alone makes 1967 my favorite TV season.

For me, ABC's 1977 lineup barely beats out the one from CBS '75. Hard to top Superfriends, Laff-A-Lympics/Captain Caveman/Blue Falcon and Dynomutt, and the Kroft shows. The CBS lineup in '75 was great too with the Looney Tunes cartoons, Scooby Doo, Shazam/Isis, and the Far Out Space Nuts, one of my all-time favorites. ABC in '76 had some good stuff too with Tom and Jerry, Jabberjaw, Scooby Doo/Dynomutt, and Electra Woman and Dynagirl.

After watching the Saturday morning shows, I would tune into a local Cleveland station for the Superhost show. (Edited to add the show opening.)

The first part of the show was filled with skits and Three Stooges episodes. I loved the Moronic Woman and Fat Whitman skits.

After that, they'd show back-to-back movies. One was usually a classic horror film (Dracula, Frankenstein, etc.) and the other was usually a Godzilla or Gamera flick.

Kids were encouraged to send in their drawings for next Saturday's movies. Then during the show, they would pan across this wall of drawings that were sent in and Superhost would comment on the drawings and mention the names of the kids who drew them. None of my drawings ever made the wall, but one my friend drew did.

The Bay City Rollers were never a cartoon...in the animated sense, that is.

It was my cute way of setting up the time frame, but thanks for pouring water on that.

That's a ton of production for a local Saturday program. The stations in my area put all of their efforts into weekday morning and afternoon kids' shows. Weekends were an afterthought.

No water was harmed in the creation of my post.

Gotta go with 1977, for the SUPER FRIENDS HOUR.

There is no wrong answer... except for that one.

Bump for the sobering Brits who didn't see this stuff when they were kids anyway.

Well, that brings back memories! The 1973 lineup is the earliest that I can remember. I don't know that I could call any one of these seasons my favorite. It's hard to say that any one was better than another.

Looking through that list did remind me of a few shows I'd forgotten about, like "Lost Saucer" (I sure didn't remember that Jim Nabors was on that!), "Ark II," and "Goober and the Ghost Chasers."

I recall "Emergency Plus Four" as having been a rather well-done show for the time, although it has been so long since I've seen it I wouldn't want to swear to that. I've certainly got lots of memories of it. It would be interesting to see it again some time, just for curiosity's sake.

I like the way they chararcterize the live-action superhero shows. The superheroes "just flew around giving advice" because they were not allowed to do anything violent (and the special effects budgets wouldn't support anything more either). That about sums it up.

C'mon!! How can Super-President miss?

9:30 Super President / NBC
(debut)
Able to leap tall interns in a single bound.

James Norcross, aka Super President, had powers born in a cosmic storm. He could turn to steel, granite or whatever else he needed.

Also seen: Spy Shadow, a private detective who could turn into his shadow.

Paul Frees voiced Super President and Ted Cassidy ('The Munsters') was Spy Shadow.[/i]

1976 I remember ArkII, Land of the Lost, and The Shazam & Isis hour, Kukla, Fran and Ollie.
I remember most of the things from that year. I was about 8. We had watched some of the other years but not as avidly. Or else our mom wouldn't let us.
