Seinfeld was just all right for me, nothing special. The characters irritated me too much for me to have any emotional investment in them, though obvious standout episodes kill no matter what (The Contest is still, for me, one of the funniest things I've ever seen on television).
And while the Simpsons has declined in writing quality over the years (and what show wouldn't after nearly 20 years on the air?), it's made me laugh consistently more.
End of the day: when flipping channels, if I see a Seinfeld episode on, I might stop to see what episode it is, but it's not likely. If I see a Simpsons episode on, I'm very likely to wait a little bit to see which one it is.

Really can't stand Seinfeld, most overrated show in history. The Simpsons make me laugh, although I seldom watch anymore. Simpsons.

Personally, it's a close run for the title between Seinfeld and Friends. Both were highly overrated.
