Chris Jericho
Domonic Monoghan
Max Von Sydow
Rupert Everett
Milla Jovovich
Estella Warren
Viggo Mortenson
Colin Farrel
Jack Black
Vinnie Jones
Scarlet Johansson
Uma Thurman
Christian Bale

Please bear in mind, I'm trying to think my way into the part of a Hollywood casting agent here. I have no idea wheteher or not Chris Jericho could get away with being Thor for a whole movie. But he sure looks the part.

Much as I hate the whole "let's cast a wrestler as a superhero" thing, that's actually a pretty good cast. I love Rupert Everett as Loki and Colin Farrel as Fandrall.

>> Triple H May Star In Upcoming "Thor" Movie - Director Angry

Submitted by Mike Shalik on August 15, 2007 - 1:49pm.

Several comic book news websites are reporting that WWE superstar Triple H being considered for the lead role in upcoming "Thor" movie. The Marvel Comics superhero is based on the mythological god of thunder and war.

Unfortunately for Triple H, there is one major obstacle in his way. Director Matthew Vaughn is not happy that a pro wrestler is being considered for the lead role in his biggest project to date. He addressed the rumor of Triple H's involvement in a recent interview. "I'll give you two reasons I dont put much stock in the otherwise very interesting rumor - "Chris" and "Benoit". With wrestling taking its biggest PR hit ever, I would be incredibly surprised if Marvel were to take that big of a risk with Thor."

The Thor character is a comic book superhero and the mythological god of thunder and war. The movie is scheduled for a 2009 release. It is being produced by Marvel Entertainment and will be distributed by Paramount Pictures. <<

Part of the problem is that Thor needs be built like a brick house, and that shortens the list of actors tremendously. Wrestlers look the part physically. Triple H is too old anyway.

Triple H could rock as Thor.

Hey, nobody thought the Rock would amount to anything, but he did just fine.

Besides, he's already had plenty of practice wielding a big hammer...

It's too bad Vladimir Kulich is too old.

I still say that, if they really have to cast a wrestler (and Jay has a point about wrestlers being the only ones with the right kind of physicality), Chris Jericho would be the best choice by far.

And Triple-H is too old for the part, I think.

I'd cast either HOLT! or Robert K.

Thor is Jericho, Simon? I can see it. Too small, maybe.

I didn't like the director's comment re: Benoit, though.

I'd much rather have Jericho as Thor than HHH, despite Jericho being 5'10".

Yeah - sorry, I didn't label the pic (whoops!). That's Chris Jericho. I think he has the right look - but he plays a kind of comedy relief goofball in the wrestling world. I'm not sure he has the acting chops to get away with being Thor. Still, he's a wrestler and a rock star (sort of, anyway), and he is charismatic. I don't know if he can 'do' regal, though, which is what Thor requires (in my opinion).

I'm happy with the rest of my list, though. Glad you liked it, Darrell.

Here's some info about his band.

I wish Jericho would come back to WWE. A Y2J/Kennedy feud would be teh awesome.

Jericho is one of the funniest wrestlers ever. Many of them seem to want to be the tough guy, or the cool guy - he just seems to revel in being an idiot. He really gets the crowd going, too.
