Yes, we all know Batman and Robin and Superman III are ultra lame. No point in even putting them on this toss up, so let's concerntrate on the more current lame superhero flicks.

I'll go with Superman Returns, as well, since it's the only one of the above that I haven't bothered watching.

Superman Returns, easy. Fantastic Four was a hoot and lots of fun, crappy Doom or no drappy Doom, Daredevil was riddled with flaws but its heart was in the right place, and the Hulk smashed up tanks. Allegedly other (pretty lousy) stuff happened, too, but he smashed up tanks.

With the kind of budget Superman Returns had, with the technology available, with the excellent job Singer did with X2, I'm astonished at how utterly bored I was through the entire thing. I can forgive a crummy premise and crummy scenes and all the other crummy stuff about that movie, but boredom? Can't forgive that. That movie was crap.

Lamest?

Hard to say.

FF was fun, even if a bit lame at times-mostly with Doom and the beginning. Poor;y made but fun is not lame.

Daredevil the Director's Cut was a bettet story than the theatrical. It wasn't made by a great filmmaker perhaps but it tried.

Hulk was well-made but boring

Superman Returns I liked a lot. At the same time, it was Superman for girls. and thus, lame to a degree. I guess. Though I still liked it.

FF was more enjoyable than it had any right to be, but I recently rewatched it with the running commentary from RiffTrax, and Johnny's lines and attitude sometimes get a little weary. Plus that dog. That damn dalmation on the fire truck. What the hell were they thinking with that?

Daredevil is lame, but so lame that it becomes tolerable again. The playground fight is so silly, and Bullseye is soooo hammy and over-the-top. Just watch it and laugh.

Hulk would be a good movie if an editor pared it down to 90 minutes. I'm surprised there hasn't been an Internet Phantom Edit of it. Perhaps no one cares.

Superman Returns wasn't a Superman movie. At all. It was a superhero version of Le Retour de Martin Guerre without the imposter angle. At times, it felt like a bunch of high school kids putting on a production of Richard Donner's Superman movie, with Principal Spacey playing Lex. It's completely forgettable, and mediocre, but not really "lame".

Yeah, it finally hit me recently that the best way to approach that movie is as camp. I think it wanted to be cool and edgy, so the camp is unintentional, but when looked at from that vantage point it's a whole different sack of walnuts.

Superman Returns is the only film in memory where I walked out of the theater angry. That gets my vote. The rest of 'em I don't even give a rat's ass about to care.

I like all four, but Superman Returns "wins" for not having Superman punch a single person in the entire film.

Incredible Hulk over Superman Returns (just barely). FF was fun, and I thought Michael Chiklis was perfect for the Thing. The Director's Cut of Daredevil wasn't half-bad.

The fake Superman movie. Like the Twitch, I was pissed off when I left the theater.

Never saw Incredible Hulk, but of the other three I liked Daredevil the least, so DD gets my vote.

Ang Lee somehow managed to make the Incredible Hulk boring. It gets my vote. :ohno:

I've only seen one of these 4 movies, and I want the time back that I lost while watching Hulk. I've seen bits and pieces of Daredevil but Ben Assfleck hasn't done a good movie in a loooonnngggg time, and as for the other two, I was driven away by preview images of Routh as Supes and the Sue/Doom/Reed love triangle idea of FF.

Superman gets shot in the eye. The bullet crumples. Superman flies throgh a plane wing. Those are the good 6 seconds of that film. A very poor return.

Not that Daredevil isn't total shit.

As I've said before elsewhere on this board, Ang Lee's 'The Hulk' is BANGING! Don't care what yez say. Great film. A film that understands comics but couldn't care less about the artistic visions of those who also understand comics - and isn't that what an auteur does? You'lll all love it in 10 years, bet ya.

Superman Returns is so bad I can't put my thoughts into words. My wife loves Lois & Clark and watches Smallville. She hated Superman Returns!

Okay, I called your bluff, you called mine :) - I still think it got an unduly hard time from the critics, Kevin. It's a film that appeals to me. It's about anger and how not to deal with it. It shows realistic consequences, emotional self-immolation, blame culture and the escape from it... I really like it.

Bleh. Hopefully next year's Hulk movie will be more to my liking. Of course, that means you'll probably hate it....;)
