Everyone gets along so well, and I've yet to see anyone crap on someone elses thread. There's a member over at the SH forum, that everytime he dislikes a thread, he's got to go in a make some negative comment. Why bother? If you don't like something, then stay out of it.
Everyone here is so civil to each other. Maybe because most of us knew each other from ICE? I dunno, but I never have to worry about posting anything here, and someone ripping into it...

That reminds me... I haven't seen a new issue of ICE in months... what's up with that?

Jeff, I agree, it's a pleasure to chat with the fellow music fans of ICE and IMWAN. I think you were one of the first to post a reply to me back on the old ICE board. I'm glad I joined ICE and followed the ICErs to IMWAN.

Yeah, we have a pretty good group here for the most part. Even though some people have called me evil and banned me more times than I can count, I'm cool with it.

Let's keep the good vibes going. C'mon, get happy...dammit!

Shut the hell up, Chris.

And I mean that in the most loving way possible.

To quote the great CSN&Y: Everybody I love you! 11 years and still going strong, even with the unfortunate demise of the magazine. We've got a good thing going here.

Despite the protestations of concerned relatives and confidants ("You're going to meet somebody you only know from the internet? How do you know he's not a serial killer?"), I've made a bunch of honest-to-goodness friends thanks to ICE, including some I haven't met in person yet. Never in a million years would I have thought that was possible. And, as I've said before, my first reaction upon finding the old ICEbox was "I'm not the only one!" We all speak a common language that not everybody understands.

I'm glad that some IMWANkers drop by downstairs from time to time. I wish more of them would, and I encourage more ICErs to visit upstairs. An interesting crew up there!

I just can't stand the Jimbo guy though. Thinks he knows everything...

In related news, in all the confusion, Stig O'Hara sued himself.

Hey, has it been a year yet since the ICE melted?

Anyone remember the date?

October 1st, 2006 was the date ICE officially moved here, although the boards and signups began a few weeks earlier.

The worst anybody could get here is to be a cereal killer. Wheaties? Apple-Jacks? Count Chocula? LOL!
I was really worried when we initially began to make the transition to over here. Was it going to be as good as the ol' ICE Board or not? I never doubted the way Linda had made things seem like it wasn't going to be too bad. But this place has turned out to be so much more than I ever envisioned that it would be. Plus, for those of us looking for a lot of information, this place has gotten pretty darned sharp. I actually think we have it better now. The key is that Linda is so hands-on here that problems only last for extremely short periods of time.
And yes, I have to meet some of you one of these days. It's just that living out West makes it a little difficult for me. When I someday get a really decent scanner (and actually learn how to use it), I'll have to show you guys who I am. I just hope that not too many monitor screens will crack when that day arrives. LOL!

Indeed. This is the most popular forum in the whole Phantom Zone, without exception.

Well done, Linda of earth.

When I read your posts I always picture you as looking like Mick Taylor because of your avatar.

Renny probably says it best when he describes ICE as "We're all about the music". Elitist attitudes about individual tastes, whether it be about artists or genres or mastering techniques, have no place here. All people who are into music are fundamentally cool.

What can I add? I agree with all of the above. I love this place too! I was a lurker on the old Ice boards and didn't join in until the move here, but I'm very glad I did.

I confess to being a cereal culler myself. You know, separating the wheat from the chaff and stuff like that... :)

I'm happy to say that, despite my far-flung location, I have now personally met two ICErs (Jay "njw" and Todd "dorian grey"), and I can attest with a fair amount of certainty that they haven't killed anyone. I've also talked with Jimbo on a number of occasions and believe he is relatively harmless.

My hopes for a sizable ICEr gathering have not diminished over the years -- someday we should make it happen.
