I enjoyed all of these stories, but I don't consider any of them "the best."

By the Man of Tomorrow, do you mean specifically the Moore story, or the Silver Age Superman portrayed therein?

Never mind, I didn't scroll up and read the poll title! :)

I gotta agreee.

I'd put Joe Kelleys Superman vs the "Authority" issue above these.

As well as Loeb and Sale For all Seasons

and Busiek's Secret Identity?(I know its not canon but still)

I'm I'm forgetting some real good ones.

I'm going with Superman vs. the Authority(What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way? IIRC).

I picked Secret Identity, despite it being an "Elseworlds" type story. I really liked Kellys "Truth..." story too, it was easily the best modern Superman story I read in ages. The Sale /Loeb stories are nice too, but a notch below those other two in my mind.
Man of Steel? Not bad, but hard to read now knowing a little too much.

Cripes, I voted for Whatever..., but then I realized I had forgotten my favorite Superman yarn-- Red Son! Best Superman story ever!

Tought call. It was between KC and the Faux Authority, but finally that gorgeous Ross art won out.

I'd like to also give props to Red Son, and Secret Identity, and a super duper extra gold star for this:

I ended up going with For All Seasons, Cause someone already voted for Superman vs. the Authority (thanks Sean) And I remember getting chills reading Loeb/Sale. I also got the same chills on Secret Identity. Authority story was down right good. (And I remember it best) but it didn't hit the Emotional note.

The best Superman story I have ever seen is the JLU animated series 2-parter "Hereafter". It shows how he is a hero even without powers and was a better "death of..." tale than they did in the comics.

My favorite Superman comic book story is tougher... Probably for me it would be DC Comics Presents Annual #1 - Superman and the Earth 2 Superman. I've reread that one a dozen times.

Subject to change at a moment's notice, I think my favorite Superman story is "For the Man Who Has Everything..." in SUPERMAN ANNUAL #11.

I'm gonna go with Superman vs the Authority, but only because Chuck Austen's run isn't a choice.

My vote is "For the Man Who Has Everything", because "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow" is more of an event story, plus it's more of an imaginary story than FTMWHE.

Moore captures Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Robin... all extremely well. He also showed us that in a world with an almost infinitely powerful Superman, you can still write a fantastic Superman story. No kryptonite, no magic.... but something that is terrifyingly more painful.

Also, I knew that "Man of Tomorrow" was coming. I knew that it would be a big deal. "For the Man Who Has Everything" caught me totally by surprise. When I left the shop that day, I had no idea that the greatest superhero story of all time was in my bag.

"The Amazing Story of Superman Red and Superman Blue" was a fanboy's dream before we knew we were fanboys.
