Yes, thank you Frank. Charley ended up making landfall further south than they'd projected, and the effects felt in Tampa were relatively mild. Now we have to worry about Leo who's up in Gainesville ...

So far, so good. It's pretty quiet out and looks like at worst we'll get gusts up to around 40, but probably 20 - 25 MPH. As with Linda, much better prognosis for us than it could've been. And other people in the state in much worse shape right now.

Thanks Frank. It's good news to type. I tell you, around 8:30 this morning the projection was the brunt of the landfall would come straight through here.

When I saw the news this morning it seemed like a very serious situtaion for you and Linda but since I was at the convention all day I wasn't able to get any more news.
So I'm glad everything is ok and now you can start worrying about the next hurricane.

In Gainesville, all appears well. I am worried about some people in the Orlando/Daytona area. There are a number of older comics pros who live down there. I believe George Perez still lives in Sanford. I think Dick Giordano lives in the Orlando area as well. I've recently been communicating with Alex Saviuk (who pencilled the Flash issues from 25 years ago) and he lives near Daytona.

So a lot of pro's work who I admire and hope are safe.

So, Leo, you ever run across Tom Petty at the Wal-Mart?

Nope. Tom doesn't seem to make it back to Gainesville that often. I do know his cousin, who works as a Captain in the local police department.

I worked for one of the local movie theaters here back in college and sold and/or tore tickets for Steve Spurrier and some of the other local celebreties. I think River and Joquin Phoenix's family may've come out to the theater once also.

I talked to Alex Saviuk yesterday at the convention Leo, so you don't have to worry about him.
Great guy, comic conventions need more guests like him.

That's right, Alex said he'd be up in Chicago this weekend. Hopefully his home and family are equally safe.
