No "Crazy" by Patsy Cline or "True Love Ways" by Buddy Holly?

Whitney Houston's version over Dolly Parton's original?

Lots of other issues, of course, including the choice for number 1. Maybe it should have been something like "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by Roberta Flack or "Crazy" or "When a Man Loves a Woman" by Percy Sledge.

They made sure that all the popular genres were included, which seemed to be their highest priority. (The Ramones?)

Oh well, at least "You Light Up My Life" was missing. :)

Only one song from the '50s and none from the first half of the century! Still, I can't argue with the first choice.

I bet "Can't Help Falling In Love" would really be the popular choice for #1.....

I don't mind "Ring of Fire" being included since the original recording features the beautific and righteous Carter Family in the background! Anita Carter possessed the most angelic voice on earth and she cuts right through the mix whenver she sang. Which was quite often really, as the Carter Family was used a lot in the Nashville Sound. June had good reason to be jealous of Anita as she was known to be the real singer in that family.

I wouldn't have minded if they included "You Light Up My Life" provided it's Patti Smith's kid's show version. :)

I thought this was for a list of Lame Love Songs. I expected Glen Medeiros ('Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You') to be #1. :-)
