Wow, this month, the Hulk demolished the Avengers and the X-Men (including the Juggernaut!). The fight with Ghost Rider was interesting, too. GR, being the Spirit of Vengeance, would not oppose the Hulk's mission. Cool stuff.

My worry is that they are doing this just to show us how tough the Sentry is when he finally shows up. I don't care much for the Sentry, personally.

Thoughts on this latest batch of Hulk goodness?

I thought this issue was very good, but lighter on characterization than the first one. The story wasn't as nuanced. That said, JR Jr's pencils in the fight scenes are impressive. You can really feel the power in the punches. Best Hulk versus Thing ever (I'd pay for 22 pages of that)?

I share your concern about Sentry saving the day. I think it has to be Bruce that ends all this (or the Hulk turns his attention towards the real enemy... Skrulls).

I really want this mini to be self-contained despite all the crossovers. This ish made me feel like I was missing stuff, but just a bit.

Planet Hulk really set up this storyline nicely. It bugged me at the time because it didn't really feel like a Hulk story, but now it's paying off. WWHulk is really a basic Hulk story writ large. Hulk wants to be left alone, he's not, so he smashes. Thanks to Planet Hulk, he's pretty justified in his actions, but still not totally in the right.

The art is great. One thing I loved is seeing the skin ripple when folks are hit.

I thought the level of characterization was fine. We had great scenes with She-Hulk and Rick Jones.

I've even been enjoying the tie-ins for the most part (Hulk, Frontline, X-Men).

Fer sure, the Shulkie moment was great. I think I would have like to have seen RJ next ish... it was a bit repetitive, but still nicely done. My quibbles are small ones. So far I'm very satisfied with this mini.

And... Thunderbolt Ross! Yessss...

The only tie-in I've been getting is the Hulk title. Sitting out on Frontline this time out (though it was a great addition to Civil War).

I'd check out the World War Hulk X-Men title. It's pretty cool seeing Hulk mow down all of the x-teams.

Spoiler: show
This month he soundly beat both Wolverine and Colossus.

At some point, I'd like to see Sentry do something, somewhere, rather than have a excuse to sit out every event because they don't know what to with him.

I guess "Jarella's World" wasn't a Hulk story either then...

I will say one thing about WWH #2 that didn't sit well with me...

Spoiler: show
Hulk hitting She-Hulk. C'mon, that's his cousin. It bugs me that he did it and also threw the first punch.

It probably wouldn't FEEL like a Hulk story to me, either. Planet Hulk was the equivalent of an X-Men in space story. Entertaining, but something that doesn't really play off the concept of the character(s). You can kind of sum up the Hulk as "Is He Man Or Is He Monster?". World War Hulk uses that as the basis of its story, Planet Hulk didn't, in my opinion.

There are a few classic Hulk stories where he goes to other planets/dimensions and is hailed as a hero there. Planet Hulk may not have felt like a Hulk story to you, but I've read a lot of Hulk stories and it felt like one to me.

I am enjoying this cross over event, just not Romita's horrible art on the main book. The X-Men art however was excellent and I loved seeing Juggernaught, Colossus and especially Wolverine getting a beat down! Great stuff! I also hope this is not just a lame way of showing that the Sentry (horrible Superman rip off) is the strongest Marvel hero. A guy takes a potion and is as strong as Galalctus? WTF!

The Sentry is a skrull.

I won't even touch the "JR Jr's horrible art" comment. To each their own.

I'm not sure I like the blurring effect on the art for the action scenes. It does work better on some shots than others, but I'd rather not see JRJR's work obscured by flashy, essentially unnecessary effects.

Here are some money shots from the X-men title (with the good artwork):

Wolverine just called Colossus "Petey", he has no respect for the characters.
