This double-disc CD features 1960s-era live recordings of the guitarist and singer Peter Green's early performances with Fleetwood Mac, as well as his work with his later Splinter Group, which he formed upon his return from decades of relative inactivity. Early Fleetwood Mac hits such as "Green Manalishi," "Man of the World," and "Albatross" are featured, as well as later covers of such Robert Johnson-penned blues classics as "I'm a Steady Rollin' Man," "When You Got a Good Friend," and "Me and the Devil Blues." I'm always pleased to see anything with Peter released, if only to snag a few new listeners. He is probably my favorite guitarist.
The Fleetwood Mac stuff is from the Boston Tea Party volumes.This, I think, is a nice sampling of one of the best live bands ever.
The Splinter Group stuff is erratic -they do some nice blues, but it pales
next to the Mac material.
Meanwhile, I await Green's 3rd comeback...
