The release date has been pushed back to November 13. I agree, Hudson-Ford made a couple of really good albums in the 1970's.

Thanks for posting this. I've been checking their web site from time to time, waiting for the release date info. I love this band and can't wait to get into this. I love the cover.

It has been released and I just received it in the mail from the Strawbs website. There is a certificate signed by Dave Cousins and numbered. It looks like this is only for the first 500 who ordered. The booklet lists all of the people who preordered it. If you look closely you'll see my name. Anyone else out there listed?

I bought mine from a vendor and it was announced as shipped two days ago. Looks like I will be out of the 5th disc though. :{

A friend of mine and entertainment writer for the Bucks County Courier Times (PA) informed me that the band with the 1974 lineup is playing the Sellersville Theater in Sellerville PA. on Sunday, June 24 at 7:30pm. I'll try to find out if the reformed lineup have any plans for a new release.

I will be seeing this "classic" lineup at BB King's in Manhattan on June 27. I have been a fan of this group since the early 70's, but for one reason or another have never seen them live. To see this lineup will be a small dream come true.
Dave Cousins has a new album either just released or coming out soon.
With the "A Taste of Strawbs" box, various new and re-releases and this tour, it's a great time for Strawbs' fans.

Whenever they do tour the US it is always on the east coast. They probably haven't made it to the west coast in decades.

I bought the box set on the strength of one song only, "Lay Down", which only appears as a live track on the box. This box is not for beginners, it's 90% previously unreleased stuff. Had I known Strawbs were mainly folk-prog, I probably would not have indulged. However, I've got to admit Dave Cousins has a gift for melody. I got a box with the fifth disc, and if you must get this box, make sure you get one with the fifth disc, it shouldn't cost any extra.
