I know this is sorta off topic....

I've been trying to find reviews of FM transmitters (which connect to the headphone jack of portable CD/mp3/etc players and transmit the signal to a nearby FM radio) for a buddy who wants to use his portable player in his car. The cassette deck in his car is broken, so he doesn't have the option of using one of the cassette adapters.

Has anyone here ever tried one of these FM transmitters (or know anyone who has?) If so, can you recommend a good one (if there are any?)

Thanks!

One of my co-workers has this one, it works very well. (It's not just for iRiver devices, she uses an iPod with it.)

Thanks Linda. That looks much nicer (and the reviews are much more positive) than the ones I found elsewhere.

I use the Kensington model sold at Amazon. They do work great. I tune to radio station 106.5 here on Long Island and the IPOD does its magic.

I thought the cassette adapter method sounded a little better (better bass) but since my car doesn't have a cassette player anymore, the FM transmitter route was needed.

Good for long trips as the FM transmitter also charges the IPOD as you travel.
