After all these years - there are still several

Mothermania - Mothers of Invention
Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up - Jeff Simmons
Feel - George Duke
Elephant's Memory - S/T with John & Yoko
the three Splinter LPS (George Harrison produced & played on first)
Sha Na Na - LP with Top 40 on it
The Homer & Jethro RCA collection (someday on Bear Family???)
Daddy Cool - orginal two releases (not comps there of)
Joker Is Wild - Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Flo & Eddie - 1st 2 LP's

what are the chances of any of these happening?

robert,

that is just the itsy bitsy tip of the iceberg.

do a search and you find quite a few threads about this.

my favorites are when million dollar selling artists have albums not yet on CD, those are the ones i will never figure out.

seals & crofts
bob seger
steve miller
neil young
nicolette larson

to name a few.

Robert,

Your Flo and Eddie wish has been granted:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RB6UW4/?tag=imwan-20

The've been packaged as a two-fer and will be released on 6/28.

FYI, they were previously available on CD in the early '90s.

I'm hoping for the 1st 2 (these are 3&4)
The Ph;orencent Leech and Eddie and Flo & Eddie

Already have IIF - but I also need Moving Targets. Thanks!

should also add the Dave Clark 5 catalog (at one brief moment they were #2 behind the Beatles)

The ones on Warner Bros. I forgot about those. Send a wish list to Rhino Handmade. This looks like a package tailormade for RH.

Robert,

Good point about the Dave Clark Five. While they were certainly nowhere near as groundbreaking as other British Invasion bands of their time, their hits had catchy hooks and melodies. This was one band that seemed to fall off the face of the earth way too soon.

Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up - Jeff Simmons

I've always wanted that title. I had the song on a Bizarre/Straight sampler lp from WB (Zapped) some time ago.

In fact, there was a time (some time ago) when the WB samplers were something to look forward to. Anyone remember The Big Ball? 2 bucks for Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Ed Sanders, TimBuckley, Pearls Before Swine, Capt. Beefheart, the always overlooked Fifth Avenue Band, Fleetwood Mac (Oh Well Pts 1 and 2) and a host of others. I think that was 1970 What a great time to be part of Warner/Reprise!

Oh Hell Yeah!. Wow, I just dug out my sets and forgot how much fun these were. I remember picking these up at a cool old antique store in Dothan, AL back in the late 70's to early 80's. Here are the ones I have:

1. The Big Ball--1970
2. The Whole Burbank Catalog--1972
3. Burbank--1972
4. All Singing-All Talking-All Rocking--1973
5. Hard Goods--1975
6. I Didn't Know They Still Made Records Like This--1975

All except the last two came with an attached booklet giving very detail info on the artists and songs as well as upcoming (at the time) albums. They al have a promo ID # such as PRO 358 but don't say promo on them.
Other collections listed on one of the record sleeves that I don't have are:
--Schlagers!
--Songbook
--Record Show
--Hot Platters
--Looney Tunes (I have seen this one over the years but always in bad shape. It came as a small type box set w/ 3 records instead of the two that the above had.

Some of the artists on these besides what Murdog mentioned are:
Jerry Garcia, Arthur Alexander, Allen Toussaint, Jackie Lomax, Daddy Cool, Faces, Malo, Fleetwood Mac, Jethro Tull. Alice Cooper, T. Rex, Cpt Beefheart, Halfnelson, Seals & Crofts, Todd Rundgren, America, Walter Carlos, Ry Cooder, Bonnie Raitt, William Truckaway, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Kenny Young, Arlo Guthrie, Curved Air, Foghat, The Meters, Jimi Hendrix, Flo & Eddie,Beaver & Krause, Cpt Beyond, Bob Weir, John Fahey, Zephyr, John Baldry, Deep Purple, Van Dyke Parks, John Cale, Frank Zappa, Labelle, Fanny, Maxayn, Martin Mull, John Renbourn.... and the list goes on and on. These are just a few off the 2nd & 3rd on my list and I decided to stop early.

I have Lucille on vinyl. The title cut is far and away the best cut. (The version is so man better htan the Joe's Garage version - SMOKING FZ guitar on that cut). The first version of Wino Man is on there (more like the 1970/71 Mother's live version) and also Raye (FZ on guitar solo).

Both this title and the George Duke title is/are rumored to be released this year (European release - G Duke in a three CD set) . I see the Simmons vinyl from time to time at Brass City Records in Waterbury, Ct (they have a web address).

I too have several of the samplers. My favorite is Zapped' but I have several others too.

I agree - these were really cool & really cheap. There is at least one of them with (to the best of my knowledge) 2 exclusive cuts. It's called "Hard Goods". The tracks are Neil Young & Graham Nash - War Song (taken from a 7" single; this is said to be it's only LP release), & the only John Denver song I could ever tolerate, "The '68 Nixon", which is really quite funny.

I believe their is also at least 1 additional title not mentioned here, "Limo".

A few months back, I read on Joni Mitchell's web site that Record Show had exclusive Joni tracks, so I bought 1 on ebay. Be warned; the exclusive Joni are 2 very short stories intrducing songs at concerts; the songs were not included.

I LOVED these things when I was a poor teenager. I think they were something like $1 per disc mail order only. I remember having Zapped & a few of the others.

Back in the day when MUSIC people ran the labels. Warner also really wanted to appear "hip".

This was made available as a Japanese release several years ago.

How about any of the CLOVER albums with Huey Lewis (I think he spelled Huey differently back then, though)? I don't think they've ever been on CD. I have two of them on LP, and they're both really good.
