I've sen the current Yardbirds and treasure the experience. But there are only two original members in the line-up, Chris Dreja and Jim McCarty. Still, this line-up released an excellent album a few years ago which included an all-time great, "Mystery of Being", so I recommend this release. "Mystery of Being" is one of the greatest songs they ever recorded.

I remember being pleasantly surprised with "Birdland" from a few years back, moreso with the new tracks than the remakes of the classics that were on it. And i enjoyed the vocals more than those on the Box Of Frogs efforts - not that John Fiddler didn't have an excellent voice per se, just that the new vocals are a least a bit more reminiscent of Keith Relf's. Will have to check this cd out.

The music is pretty good. There is some killer harmonica on the live performances. I'm hoping the band is coming back to L.A. this summer. There are only east coast dates so far. I saw them a few months ago and was pleased by how good they were.
