My brother sent me a couple of rough pencil sketches that he did today and I thought I would post them up for you guys to see. He is working on a few pen and ink full pieces and when I get them I will scan and post as well. Hope you like them:

My brother is an old school guy and grew up on the Buscema brothers. Thanks for the kind words Ross. He is working on a Magneto versus Prof X commission piece at present for a customer. I will post it up when it is done.

Pencil only Magneto versus Professor X commission piece. Inking backgrounds etc still to be done. This is what he got done today and he should have the completed piece finished later in the week.

Nice looking stuff. I like the kind of twisted Frankenstein look of that first Hulk. Quite cool. Your brother has some chops.

A quick Wolverine sketch he did today for a character study. He is now doing a full 11x17 pen and ink of Wolverine.

Finished pen and ink of Magneto versus Professor X. He needs a bigger scanner as the 11x17 page doesn't fit on his scanner.......

I really like the Hulk stuff. It's nice to see some Sal influence out there. There just isn't enough artists evoking Sal or John Buscema in today's age for my tastes.

Not really big on the Surfer or Wolverine. The Surfer suffers because I've never seen him quite that enraged before. It's strange to me. Not bad...just unfamiliar.

The Wolverine suffers just because it's generic Wolverine 101. Again, not bad, I've just seen it done so much that it's got a "been there, done that" feel with me.

Magneto is nice, and so is Prof. X. It's a good contrast with the Hulk pieces.

As much as I like the Sal influence, tell your brother to keep pushing the experimentation that he shows with that first Hulk piece. There's a unique style in there that is obvious, if he keeps at it, he might just refine it into something marketable.

Overall, good stuff! I'd love to see more.

Thanks for taking the time to write the critique DAC, much appreciated. He is working on a few new pieces currently, and is trying to evolve his own style as well. He hasn't drawn anything for around 10 years so he is taking it slowly to get back in the saddle so to speak. I just received a few works in progress that I will post up. He has a showing later this month and I am trying to get him to cover as many bases as possible with different characters.
