Bruce Springsteen With The Sessions Band Live in Dublin will be available on-line and in stores on June 5. The release will consist of: a concert DVD, Blu-ray Disc, and separate two-CD set. The songs and videos are drawn from the band's performances in Dublin, Ireland at The Point in November of 2006.

Songs include fan favorites from 'The Seeger Sessions,' radical interpretations from the Springsteen songbook and rare songs appearing for the first time on any Springsteen release.

Here's additional info from Backstreets.com:

NO FOOLIN': LIVE IN DUBLIN DUE JUNE 5!
Sessions tour gets official document, on CD and DVD
As Springsteen fans know all too well, just because they record a show doesn't mean it's going to be released: Bruce's Boston stop on the Devils & Dust tour, captured on film but stuck in the vault indefinitely, is a recent case in point. So when we found out last year that the Dublin stand on the Seeger Sessions tour would be filmed, we weren't counting any chickens. Now, however, we have official word that a show's worth of material from those November 2006 concerts, will be coming home, on DVD (including availability on the hi-def Blu-ray format) as well as in a separate two-CD set.

Live in Dublin, from "Bruce Springsteen with the Sessions Band" (note "Seeger" has been dropped) is scheduled for June 5 from Columbia. The two-CD set and DVD each feature 23 songs from The Point in Dublin, captured on November 17, 18, and 19:

1. Atlantic City
2. Old Dan Tucker
3. Eyes on the Prize
4. Jesse James
5. Further on Up the Road
6. O Mary Don't You Weep
7. Erie Canal
8. If I Should Fall Behind
9. My Oklahoma Home
10. Highway Patrolman
11. Mrs. McGrath
12. How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live?
13. Jacob's Ladder
14. Long Time Comin'
15. Open All Night
16. Pay Me My Money Down
17. Growin' Up
18. When the Saints Go Marching In
19. This Little Light of Mine
20. American Land
21. Blinded By the Light

Bonus Songs:
22. Love of the Common People
23. We Shall Overcome

And a familiar team at the helm: The DVD was edited by Emmy- and Grammy-winner Thom Zimny, with audio mixed by Bob Clearmountain (including 5.1 surround) and mastered by Bob Ludwig.

This needed to be released. The tour was pretty limited in reach compared to his other tours. I never got to witness this one at all-save for the AOL stuff they had last year. So, I welcome very much this release.

I picked up both the CD and the DVD today at 'Rama. I saw the tour at MSG and it was a great show. What're the odds that any of the Big Box stores will have exclusive extras?

BTW, the packaging is an all-cardboard affair. Looks like a trend with Sony these days.

I hate the pkg as well. I like the cool new Elvis digi-paks but these cardboard ones are terrrible. The Ozzy one is the worst yet. I do like the song selection. Got it today as well for $10. I hope there are no bonust issues to come.

Picked up the new Band comp from the Box with the DVD and slipcase for $8. Haven't heard or seen it yet but looks cool.

I guess I'm in the minority on this one. I can't stand this Seeger Sessions stuff. It just pales in comparison to the E Street Band material. Not my cup of tea at all. The retooling of his signature songs is poor and IMO boring. I'll sit this one out.

Funny thing is, like Ken, I wasn't too enthused at the prospect of Springsteen covering Seeger's stuff. But that's where we differ - I was surprised not only to find that I liked the album, but how much I enjoyed it! Maybe it's because I've listened to "classic" Springsteen so much in the eight or so years I've been a fan of his, and his more recent stuff - "The Rising" and "The Seeger Sessions" (but definietly not "Devils and Dust") are like a breath of fresh air to me.

I don't think I'd want to listen to Seeger Sessions 24/7 (I still need the occasional GG Allin fix  ), but if it's an indication of the direction Springsteen's going, this is one train I definitely want to board.

Okay...is the Amazwan listing wrong, or does the 2-CD/DVD set actually have one less audio track than the 2-CD stand-alone set? I only see "Long Time Comin'" on the 2-CD set.

Gosh--do you remember back when the record-buying public would go off of their collective nut at the news of an impending official live Springsteen album? How the CBS hype machine would plaster Bruce's face and music all over every magazine, newspaper and radio station in anticipation? How the (makes a perfect gift!) release would happen around the Christmas season?

After you get through throwing another $20 or so at Springsteen and Landau, be sure to toss a couple of cans of soup into the unemployed factory worker kitty on behalf of Bruce and Jon. God bless you!

Signing a massive contract with the stipulation that there will be more releases will do that to you. I don't think I'd be too off-target if I said that there are loads of unheard from core Springsteen fans who, like myself, are still waiting on a consistent archive live series one of these days. I only wish that the Hammersmith Odeon '75 shows was a starting point. At this juncture I have no idea what, if any, ancient E-Street Band stuff is going to come out eventually (other than the mentionings by Landau of a '78 Winterland and some type of a special reissue of Nebraska).
Backstreets.com has been reporting that Bruce has been kicking things into high gear on the next E-Street Band album down in Atlanta. So, any archive releases are likely to not be a high priority at this point in time. We'll just have to see.
I only pre-ordered the DVD for the Seeger Sessions Band Live material. I'm going to have to go over again if there are enough songs on the CD to warrant my getting the CD as well. BTW, with my recent re-discovery of The Grateful Dead over the last couple of years and the fact that I admire them so much for the incredibly generous amount of vault material they have given fans (as well as by Pearl Jam), my expectations have grown so much concerning Bruce that I'm trying to decide whether it's a blessing or a curse for having knowledge of the GD organization's fan-friendly attitude. It isn't so much Bruce (although he could be mirroring it exactly and I just don't want to face up to it), but Landau just strikes me as being so anti-fan compared to how Bruce seemingly comes off as being.
Sorry for the rant. It's been a while.

Why would someone in Jon Landau's position want to be so anti-fan?

J&R's got the CD version for $11.99. The CD/DVD combo was $19.99, and the DVD by itself was $17.99.

The CD version was originally sale stickered at $15.99, but another customer pointed out that it was priced at $11.99 on their website, so they lowered the in-store price. When I was there, copies displayed in the front of the store were $11.99, but the "New Releases" copies in the back were still $15.99. While I was there a J&R employee with a roll of $11.99 stickers showed up to make the adjustment on those copies.

For all those near Braintree, MA, Best Buy has the CD/DVD set stickered at $16.99. It rang up as $27.99 at the register but the guy reduced the price.

So far, what I've heard I enjoy a lot. A giant hootnnanny. Had passed on the Seeger sessions since it was a dual disc, but was always intriqued. I imagine the live environment simply enhances the point of the music - celebration os spirit.

I was orginally going to hold off on buying this, until I heard some reveiws for it. Then when I went to BB after work today (to get the new Macca) I noticed it was only 9.99, and they were playing it on the wide screen. All I needed to hear and see was one song and I changed my mind. I'll be playing it this weekend...

Don't forget, the later, newer version called American Land Edition not only has some extra tracks but it is not a Dual Disc. The DVD is seperate from the CD.

I've got four frickin' versions of it. The one I just mentioned, the dual disc, a promo CD without the DVD in a jewel case and the 2LP vinyl version. Collecting can be hell. As I aleady got a promo of the new live one for $10 before I knew there would be one with a DVD, I will have to wait until it shows up used or promo. Too much $$$
Damn

Landau can come off as being anti-fan compared to Bruce because he controls the parameters of what fans can expect from him and thereby not put so much pressure on Bruce. It's been pretty much a foregone conclusion that Landau has to be the one who changed Bruce's mind on bootlegging and letting it slide. Remember the days when Bruce used to say "Bootleggers, roll your tapes?" Now the attitude is, "We're going after you guys in court". There are a number of examples where Bruce's attitude has hardened and with no explanation over the years. It would not seem to be a natural evolution on Bruce's part.
Why would Landau want to come off as anti-fan? So that he doesn't lose control of his artist. His grip on Bruce is skillfully tight. Fans don't often notice it when they first join the fold. Over time, veteran fans will notice contradictions.
