Description
The Alan Parsons Project second studio album I Robot, widely regarded as one of the greatest concept albums of all time, is now re-issued as a Super Deluxe Edition Box Set. Featuring 4CDs, a Blu-ray, a 2LP audiophile pressing, a hardcover book, and replica press folder.

Originally released in July 1977, the album draws conceptually on author Isaac Asimov’s science fiction Robot stories, exploring philosophical themes regarding artificial intelligence. The album was a worldwide hit selling in excess of two million copies, achieving platinum and gold status in numerous countries.

Like other Alan Parsons Project albums, there were a variety of different lead vocalists employed including Steve Harley, Allan Clarke, Lenny Zakatek, Peter Straker, Jack Harris and Jaki Whitren. Plus, a selection of session musicians such as guitarist Ian Bairnson and drummer Stuart Tosh with arrangements by Andrew Powell.

- 4CDs containing a stereo remaster of the original album by Miles Showell plus 70 bonus tracks (47 previously unreleased) from studio out-takes

- Featuring stunning Dolby Atmos and 5.1 Surround Sound mixes by Alan Parsons from the original multi-track master tapes along with a new stereo HD remaster of the original album by Miles Showell. Blu-ray also contains the restored I Wouldn’t Want To Be Like You promotional video and interview footage of Eric Woolfson discussing the album.

- The 45rpm 180gm heavyweight vinyl 2LP in a gatefold sleeve contains a half speed remaster by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios

- A beautifully fully illustrated 12” x 12” hardback casebound book featuring interviews with Alan Parsons, the Woolfson family and the musicians/lead vocalists as well as full lyrics and commentary on the bonus tracks

Of all the APP releases, THIS is the one I wanted most in 5.1 Blu-ray. I guess the the original Multitracks are missing. What a shame.

Jason -- the details you brought turned out to be only for the 1CD Expanded version, so I've specified that in your post.

Fingers crossed that, like all the other previous super deluxe editions, this is followed several months later by a standalone blu-ray...all of which have been excellent.
