My dad is a pretty good guitarist who just retired and is focusing on playing in all his new free time. We started talking about YT shows on music and I recommended this one by Rick Beato, which I enjoy from time to time --

He in turn recommended a show called Drumeo, which is pretty cool. They bring in drummers and play tracks of music they never heard with the drum part removed, then the drummer improvises a new drum part.

Anyway, thought you guys might enjoy these and I'm happy to hear about any shows you're enjoying or have enjoyed in the past. :D

FYI - Beato has two channels.

Tell your dad to look up Tim Pierce. He does a lot of videos and does live streams from time to time. Tell him to look at Tim's master class (but wait for the $99 sale - I think it still locks in that price annually instead of the $149 regular price). There's a ton of instructional content, but the big score with it is Tim's other livestream - members only, it goes longer, and it's more interactive. Tim's enthusiasm is infectious.

I watch Mary Spender's videos from time to time. They can be a little slower paced, but there are some gems in there. Dweezil Zappa does some nice videos from time to time - he recently posted two tracks from his band that were solo sections w/o the lead guitar. Nice to jam to.

Behind the paywall, Drumeo is an instructional site for drummers. They offer a number of online lessons, as well as drum-part transcriptions for a many popular songs. They also run sites for guitarists (guitareo), pianists (pianote), and singers (singeo)..
