Angie Stone, a veteran soul and R&B singer, has died at 63 after a Sprinter van accident in Alabama.
The 3x Grammy nominee’s daughter Diamond Stone announced her mother’s death Saturday on social media following the accident that occurred as she was leaving a performance early that morning in Montgomery, Alabama.
Stone was one of 9 people in van, which included her crew and backup singers when the van was crashed on Interstate 65 in Montgomery County. She was the only fatality, Deborah told us.
Angie was traveling from a performance at Mobile Area Mardi Gras Association Grand Marshal’s Ball to another performance at the CIAA basketball tournament in Baltimore when the crash occurred, we're told.
“My mommy is gone,” wrote Diamond Stone on Facebook.
Angie Stone’s rep Deborah R. Champagne also confirmed the death to TMZ following the accident.

Roberta Flack, Chris Jasper, and now Angie Stone... my God this has been a terrible week for R&B/Soul lovers. Angie always seemed like such a sweet heart and I've always felt she was one of the more underrated talents in the music game. She was a gem. RIP Angie.
