Celebrating the collision of traditional folk with new psychedelic studio techniques, new and exotic textures, and a developing groove. It’s a wide and broad range of styles, drawing from folk, its oral storytelling tradition, and also from jazz, beat, rhythm and blues, and the more mind opening sounds of psychedelia.Tracklist [CD1] 1. Just received last night. As someone who has most of the VA releases from Strawberry, Grapefruit, Dr Bird and other labels under Cherry Red, the packaging is definitely different. Typically the 3-4 disc sets are simple boxes with discs in card sleeves. This one is the first that I recall using digipack packaging (typically used for the larger - Cherry Red boxes). Will be interesting to see if continued on the other pre-orders I have in the queue. Obvious digipack costs more to manufacturer, but prices are still aligned with previous. I see it as a good sign for the health of the company, though have to admit, I do like the card boxes as they take a up a little less room (even if I have to protect the discs with the sleeves.). Looking forward to listening to this set (love them all).
