I knew if I held out long enough that this would come out on its own.

Anybody hear this from the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge deluxe? If so, howzit sound?

I'd like a David Lee Roth era show. They must've recorded something during those years?

From what was posted on the internet, I thought the sound was surprisingly good.

If you want a video sample, just do a search on YouTube and you will have no problem finding clips of this show.

I think I'll pass on this audio-only version and wait to see if a stand-alone Blu-ray is released.

Thanks.

You'd think they would offer that as an option (BR standalone or 2-fer). Oh. Wait a minute. That'll come out mid-summer.

The sound is really good. It's a very loose show - not loose as in sloppy loose, loose as in not a regimented, strict set list, pre-programmed loose.

The only time I saw Van Halen live was in 1980- once Roth left, I never enjoyed the band as much.

The cover makes it look like one of those European Gray Market CD's.

I did pick this up during RSD Black Friday. Its a fun live album. 3 sides of music and 1 etching side.

I lived in the Dallas area at the time. You may already know that they did this as a free concert. A few years before, I had seen Sammy Hagar on the VOA tour at Reunion Arena. During the show, he lost his voice and actually asked for a volunteer from the audience to come up and sing for him (who sucked and only lasted one song). Later I saw Van Halen at the Monsters of Rock show at the Cotton Bowl that they headlined and Sammy's voice was breaking up again. I guess he felt bad because he promised the audience a free concert. Eventually they announced the show at the West End Marketplace in downtown Dallas. I really wanted to go but I had just recently started my first real job after graduating and couldn't take off in the middle of the day for a concert. That's what made this release the only must have from RSD for me.

Canadian and UK listings are still active. I'm sure the U.S. one will be back.

Seriously pissed off right now. Here's my copy of this order............

Amazon tracking

USPS Tracking:

Just got off the phone with an Amazon rep. I'm being refunded. But what really aggravates me is that this item is sold out. Yeah, other sellers have it but not even close to the rate I initially paid.

I checked at my local post office and she located what the tracking issue is........ the USPS never even got hold of it.

My copy of Judas Priest's remaster of Rocka Rolla went thru the same thing last November. Never received it to this day, but was able to reorder since it was still available.

/end rant

I see copies at Amazon U.S. starting at $16.57. Is that unreasonably high?

Depends on how you look at it. I placed the order right away when it was posted here on January 22, 2025.

The price I initially paid was $13.95, and yeah, I think that $16.57 is unreasonable for a single disc.

In Canada it's $20.50 so I wasn't sure.

I'm hoping it'll come back in stock or, miraculously, the order actually arrives.

Or maybe the Carnal deluxe will come down to an insane prices. No need for the vinyl though.

Or I can just do without out of protest. :D

Just ordered too. But I do wish they'd delve into the vaults for some vintage Roth-era live stuff.
