It doesn't make any sense. What would sell better is if they just released the live shows as a 2-disc set.
The LA live disc had already been released twice already. It was originally the bonus disc in a 2 CD deluxe version of Pyromania. Then it was released as one of the discs in the Def Leppard CD Collection Volume 1.
The other live disc is an abbreviated 6 song set (part of a large festival) and runs just under 28 minutes.
I don't think there would have been a market for a 2 disc set of these shows.
The LA show contains all the songs that were performed, but has been edited. Assuming they still have all of the original show, what they should have done was restore that full show to it's entirety, put it on 2 discs, and then tack the <28 minute German show onto the end of the second disc.
